Ebbs Chapel Performing Arts Center Our Mission:
Helping the community hear the call of the mountain song. The school at Ebbs Chapel was built to serve the Applachian community.

Some say you can still hear the echo of children's laughter in the hallways and classrooms. As this beautiful historic building has been restored, it has brought life back to the spirit of community. We support the local community by bringing in regional artists to benefit local charitable organizations. Located in the heart of Laurel Valley, Ebbs Chapel Performing Arts Center hopes to be your mou

ntain home for entertainment. The Ebbs Chapel Performing Arts Center was founded on the grounds of the community's school. The first school on this site was constructed in the late 1800's. The current building was built in 1938 near the end of the depression era. The school was closed and abandoned in 1974. In 2001, local residents banded together in an effort to save the historic building from demolition. The theater has been fully refurbished. The building itself is now stabilized from further decline with a new roof and windows throughout. Work continues on the restoration of the classrooms proceeding one room at a time. It is anticipated that in the immediate future, that space will be devoted to the sale of local crafts and art works.

Everette Boone is singing in Heaven tonight. I can't believe I just said that. Everette has not felt well for the past few years but he never failed to take his place with his fellow musicians on Friday night. Everette's smile will always be in my mind, he was a patriot who loved to wear his uniform, salute the flag and honor our veterans, He loved his family, church and community. Everette Boone is a good man, a charming man with a winning smile. I will miss him for a long time.

The Venue

Looking for a place to host your next event?
Ebbs Chapel Performing Arts Center seats approximately 225 guests. With in-house lighting and an elevated stage, our auditorium has that old-school flair (literally). The venue has several rooms available for the sale of craft items. A full kitchen is also available for an additional cleaning cost. We currently do not have an in-house sound system, but the stage is wired appropriately for most equipment.

Current fee for rental is $300. Costs have been deliberately kept low to encourage the use of the facility by the community. Local climate does not require air conditioning for summer use. The theatre is winterized and closed for the winter.
