Good Fight Flowers GIVE AWAY on January 19th!

Hi flower friends, I am reaching out for your support. Somehow, all of my hard earned Google reviews have been deleted, and unfortunately cannot be recovered. This is pretty bad news for a small business who relies on reviews to attract customers.

It's that time again! The DAHLIA TUBER SHOP is live! We've got a ton of fun, reliable varieties this year, but quantities are more limited than usual. Now is the time to plan for spring!

Thanks to all my returning customers as well as new ones who prioritize supporting small farms. Tubers will be shipped in April 2025. I cannot ship in the fall. Thank you!

Looking for a way to support a small business impacted by Hurricane Helene AND bring some much needed joy to those who have lost and suffered so much?

My flower farm, Good Fight Flowers, is sitting on nearly 100 premium amaryllis bulbs. These bulbs were ordered from South America months ago, before the hurricane, and promptly forgotten about. With the loss of our commercial districts and retail spaces, I am trying to find creative ways to move these bulbs. Shipping them is not economical.

I am selling jumbo potted amaryllis bulbs on my website. Each purchase will be delivered locally to folks impacted by the hurricane - displaced people, first responders, business owners, and our tireless volunteers. We have an enormous amount of work and challenges ahead, and I firmly believe in the power of flowers to heal, even just the tiniest bit.

Many have asked, so I'm hoping to gauge interest on my holiday wreaths this year. In the past I have loved growing for, foraging, and designing wreaths with 100% Madison County sourced material. It's my end of the year love letter to our beautiful home. That being said, I'm having a hard time finding motivation to take on this process, as it's a ton of work, and our lives are energies are spread thin in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.

The shops and bars I where I used to sell my wreaths are now gone. I'm wondering if people would still want to support my holiday greens project, but with pre-orders instead. It would look a little different this year, as you'd have limited options to choose from, and it would involve driving to Shelton Laurel to pick up. Wreaths will be somewhere in the $50-$75 range.

So, whatdya think? Would you pre-order a locally sourced wreath for farm pick up? Or should we give it a break this year?

Hi everyone. I want to thank those of you who reached out to me regarding the utter devastation our communities suffered by Hurricane Helene. The state of our communities, towns, rivers, mountains, economy and mental health are dire. Through all this, I've been trying to navigate having a flower farm in the middle of an environmental and economic wasteland. I've decided to sell some fall bulbs to raise money for our farm and for our community. All fall bulb sales will have 20% donated to non-profits with boots on the ground, actively helping those in need.
If ranunculus and anemones aren't your thing, I'm also working on getting my dahlia tuber shop launded by the end of the year.

Spent the morning planning ahead for holiday wreath season!

It’s full on dahlia season on the farm and you’d think I’d just be out there slinging these babies! You may be surprised to know that August is typically a low flower demand month, and the work to get these flowers to market is harder than ever. The weeds, the heat, the weeds… All this to say, I’ve decided to take the month of August off from my weekly Friday gig at East Asheville Tailgate Market so I can focus ahead on fall projects. The website has been updated to host the upcoming spring bulb sale, beds are getting cleared and cover crop sown, so. much. weeding is happening, and holiday greens are being planned for earlier this year!

If you need dahlias in your life (and you really do), you can find them at Camdens Coffeehouse in Mars Hill, Zuma Coffee in Marshall, on Saturdays at the Johnson City Farmers Market, or by reaching out via DM!

Wishing y’all hydration and rest this August! If you love these dahlias, you’ll love the upcoming dahlia tuber sale this year! So many incredible varieties - the shop usually opens in November.

Ten years ago I moved to Marshall, NC where I knew no one, had no plan and no job. The fine folks of Zuma Coffee welcomed me with open arms and hired me. The offered me a job and in turn, a community. In business over 20 years, Zuma Coffee continues to be the hub for communal connection and engagement in our sweet town. It's extremely heart warming to now offer my fresh flowers weekly at Zuma Coffee!
