Melissa Gibbons, owner of Honey Bee Event Coordination, is so excited to bring her experience in event planning to Martinsburg and the surrounding areas. Her years of experience in event management, hospitality, and customer service have given her the knowledge to help turn her client's vision into

a successfully executed event that leave a lasting impression. Melissa first gained experience in coordinating events at the Shepherd University Alumni Association, while finishing her bachelor’s degree. From there she accepted a position planning national conferences of 100-4,000 attendees for a tradeshow and exposition management company in Northern Virginia. After attending a conference in Boulder, CO, Melissa fell in love with the scenery and weather and jumped at the opportunity to further cultivate her passion for events and gain experience as a Wedding Coordinator and Event Designer in the Denver/Boulder/Front Range area of Colorado. An expanding family and the lure of having grandparents nearby brought Melissa back to her home state of West Virginia, and to eventually open her own business of Honey Bee Event Coordination. After staying home with her two children and working for part time for various local wedding vendors, Melissa is excited to put her creativity to work helping couples plan their best day ever

Manning the registration table!

My bread and butter daytime job is helping an amazing non-profit plan fundraising events. Today we had a Sponsor Kick Off Party where we TRIPLED our sponsorship amounts from this time last year! I enjoy being the person people come to with questions and concerns. I love to help people have a great time!!

"There's been a murder!!!"

Not something I expected to hear while venue-sitting at the beautiful Aspen Hall Manor today, but luckily today's event was a scheduled Murder Mystery Birthday Party!

I love helping "venue-sit" for owners when they have to be away during an event. Having a dedicated point of contact from the venue is essential for any event. No bathroom shall go toilet-paper-less while I'm in charge!

You know you are meant to be in the wedding business when even models at a bridal fashion show walking down the aisle make you tear up. 🥰

Love was in the air today at the Dream Weddings Bridal Expo. I enjoyed getting the chance to chat with so many amazing vendors!

I can't compliment Grace Riane Bridals enough for making sure all of the different shaped models looked stunning in their dresses! I loved how Nikki Visions gave the model as a very natural, but glam look. And if those hairstyles held up to multiple outfit changes, it would probably do well during a night of dancing, too!

Happy Wednesday! I just updated the About section of my page to give a little more detail about me and my experience as an event planner. I feel like inviting someone in to help you with a wedding or other special event is a personal experience, as your vendors really help shape the overall experience of your event.
