This year in my business, I have reflected a lot on my goals and dreams and what really pushes me to keep moving forward. Owning a small business is not for the faint of heart and this year has been hard. But it has also been SO rewarding and that is because of YOU! Because of everyone that has trusted me with their once in a lifetime moments and memories. So thank you for being the reason that I do what I do! Here’s to another great year of serving YOU!!

Take the trip!!! My husband and I planned a big trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic for our 10 year anniversary and it was SO good for our marriage!! It allowed us to reconnect, communicate and relax! I am a huge advocate for marriage and really finding ways to love each other and still pursue each other even when the spark has maybe faded a bit. This trip was such a needed reset for us and helped me fall in love all over again!! 🥰 So, TAKE THE TRIP!!

I thought I’d do a quick intro post since we have some new followers and it’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted on social media! 🤪
One thing you’ll want to know about me is that my family is SO important to me! Every year, I book a photographer for family photos which is probably not the norm for photographers. I know there are many photographers that take their own family photos but I am just not one of them! haha!
These photos mean SO much to me that I don’t want to be distracted or having to work during them. These photos go up on our walls in our home (and yes, I have one from every year up), they go in photo books for my kids each year, scrapbooks and they randomly get printed out for school projects or other things.
I love being able to see our growth and family relationship in these photos every year. Not to mention, the change in our kids from year to year. And I LOVE that I can be totally present for these sessions so our genuine family dynamic can be captured!

When you have your own business, sometimes it feels like you always have to be ‘on’. You always have to be available. You have to have a consistent online presence and constantly be working behind the scenes. But lately, I’ve been posting on social media sporadically and blogging every once in a while and normally I would be feeling super guilty about that.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But the truth is, I get to make that decision and right now, I’m not going to feel guilty for it. I have had my business for over 8 years and have worked SO hard to get it where it is today. And I’m really proud of that.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s time for a season of allowing myself to make business decisions that make sense for me and my family and not just doing whatever everyone else says will work.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Moving and starting your business over in a new place is a lot to handle, especially behind the scenes. There’s so much work that goes into marketing and networking and it takes a lot of effort and time. And normally I would be feeling pressured to post on social media 5+ times a week and blog 3+ times a week, because that’s what ‘works’. But the truth is, I am prioritizing other things right now and that’s okay!
