Look at the rehab we did on this one! Don't throw it out just because it doesn't work with your design. You can give it a face lift just with a little elbow grease and paint!

The "boy cave" is finished! ( For the most part 😉) we still have a couple of small things to finish up. Like trim, base boards and hanging curtains ( when I eventually find some I like 🤷🏼‍♀️).
The boys are sharing a room in this house. It is very tight quarters so every inch of their space has a purpose. We had to be super strategic in the placement of beds, furniture, even their clothes. It honestly was like preparing a tiny home. Most areas of the room have to serve as double duty.
They wanted a sports/gaming room. Well I think we succeeded.
Almost all the furniture was FB market place (FBMP). Nothing cost over $35! Several pieces were free!

So I had my heart set on having a big metal bed but finding a king size one online is next to impossible! Unless you are willing to spend hundreds of dollars. Well we just don't have that kind of money right now with all the house fixing up. I of course think you can spray paint anything as long as it has a surface 😂. So to Fb marketplace I went in search of my king size metal bed. I found a brass one that was truly an antique! After some negotiating we settled at $50.
I knew we would still have to buy sandpaper and spray paint and my whole budget for my bed was less than a hundred dollars. Well I'm very pleased to say I came in well under budget! I was very thankful that Justin has had such great painting experience from his past with his dad so he was able to do the whole thing in one day! Still lots to do in our room but at least my bed is done. Now no more mattress and box springs on the floor! I can sleep good!! Ahh! 😴 BTW do you like my $10 REAL leather recliner?? FB marketplace for the win. My chandelier too. But I'll tell you more about that in another post real soon!

Lots has happened since we last posted about our journey with our little house.
We have officially moved in! Lawd help me! I have no words what moving in really entailed. We had no garage so we had to move ALL our boxes, furniture and extra stuff in the house. Let me put it in perspective for you, we had a large storage unit in Ar, medium sized storage unit here, stuff stored at Justin's parents, my Mamaw's house, mom's house, all the stuff we had where we lived, plus my antique furniture my dad had stored for me in his storage over 10 years ago.b 😳 We were living in a giant storage unit or a better image is a hoarders house.😱
At first it was so overwhelming I felt like we wouldn't ever be able to get unpacked and settled in. I was like Misty get it together you help people do this to their homes everyday. So I started practicing what I have preached all these years. Needless to say FB market place, trash day, and our local Amvets (donation center) have become my best friends. 😂
Still lots to do but we are just doing little projects along the way as we can now.
Since our last update we have:
1) power washed the siding, front porch and the deck
2) cleaned the roof and gutters out
3) cut out along the fence
4) trimmed back all the trees
5) shelves added to pantry and under cabinets in kitchen
6) kids rooms done
7) started putting trim and base board up
8) window treatments added
9) unpacked almost all the boxes!!!!
10) decorating has begun!

We have made lots of great progress in our little house.
We have to date: 1)took all the wall panels down
2) mudded and sanded all gaps in walls
3) vacuumed dust for days and deep cleaned while house twice!!!!
4) tore up all the old flooring
5) laid flooring through whole house
6) painted several of the new light fixtures
7)took down all old light fixtures
8) hung all new lights
9) painted all the walls and trim in the house
10) painted all the kitchen and all bathroom cabinets and the hardware
11) replaced old mail box and built stand for it
12) put in new hot water heater.
13) planted flowers...

We did it! We purchased our first flip house! For years I have loved helping friends renovate, decorate, and remodel. So we decided to let our first house in TN be a project, but one we could live in while we worked on the home. We started the work a couple of weeks ago and I have decided to log our progress here. I hope you enjoy our process.
