Our first Flagons & Dragons in Malden was a success! Met up with some old friends, made a few new ones, talked like a goblin and got to see this beautiful lady after a weekend apart. It was a good day.

Yesterday I was in a school library, around 3:55 PM, golden May sunlight pouring through the third story windows, writing magic runes into a giant spell book, next to the dungeon I had set up for my upcoming D&D Afterschool club session, listening to Simple Plan, and hearing the sounds of excited kids bouncing down the hall towards me for their weekly Friday game of D&D. And I was getting paid for it.

I don't know how long life will be this good, but while it is, I am so incredibly grateful for it.

Today marks the one-year anniversary of being laid off at Deloitte and taking Danger Wizard full-time. It has not been an easy year, but it has been without question one of the best of my life. Every morning, I am so god damn excited to wake up and serve the communities, families and people that I work with through Danger Wizard. Gaming changes lives, especially when connection and community are at the heart of it. Thank you to everyone who has helped, supported, or even discouraged me along the way. I would not be here running my business and doing what I love (while talking like a Goblin) without you.

If you have a dream, as crazy as it might seem, go for it. It is better to try and fail to do something epic than to keep playing it safe forever. And if you try and succeed, you'll be wishing you started sooner.

Another stellar night teaching new players how to play D&D! We had 30 eager-eyed new adventurers join us to learn how to make a level 1 character and the basics of D&D. Hosted at the lovely Upstairs at Bow Market in Union Square Somerville with the brilliant Caroline Sheridan of &games.

D&D Club is back on the calendar! Danger Wizard is thrilled to announce the fall semester schedule for Somerville after school Dungeons & Dragons clubs, starting September 11. Soon the halls of Somerville public schools will ring with the clamor of battle, the clatter of dice, and the whoops of victory as a new wave of students discover the excitement of D&D!

Sign ups are open now! Spaces are limited to 10 students per club for 6th-8th graders(3rd-5th for Brown). The student must be enrolled in the school that hosts the club. Register at https://dangerwizard.com/ by following the links for each school's option.

The schedule is 2:30-3:30 pm, and closed on holidays. Tuition varies depending on the number of days the club will meet. Clubs will be hosted at the following schools:

Monday-Brown School
Tuesday- East Somerville School
Wednesday- Edgerly Education Center (for Winter Hill students)
Thursday- West Somerville Neighborhood School
Friday- Healey School

DM or comment with any questions. Level up your kid's math skills, reading comprehension and self-confidence with D&D!

This morning I had a feeling there would be some sweet old school D&D miniatures at the Elephant's Trunk in New Milford. By Moradin's Beard was I right. Scooped up a handful of vintage Dragonlance mini figs from 87-90. I almost have the complete cast of characters from the original trilogy! Can't wait to bust these out at a game night soon!

Dungeons and Dragons has been having a cultural moment for a while now, with the recent blockbuster movie and Stranger Things generating interest. One local man has made DnD his career. WBZ's Madison Rogers reports.
