Happy Thanksgiving to you all

One more thank you is to PFG & my salesman Matt Oliveira. This guy emulates what customer service is. We have followed him loyally along his journey with distributors he is as loyal as they come, knowledgeable and he works earnestly for every one of his customers. He and the management team supplied us with this re**er to allow us the additional space absolutely needed to accomplish fulfillment of all these orders while maintaining stringent to food safety and adequate temperatures of all product before, during and after product fulfillment.

It wouldn’t do justice after putting out several hundred Thanksgiving orders without thanking every customer who entrusts us to cater their special holiday meals. I put a lot of thought into how we can execute and facilitate this to best serve every customer. Most places you go you wait in long lines with orders not fulfilled, I took this knowledge and feverously implemented systems since Covid to service our customers mobile outside. Customers inside their warm vehicles with phone access and cognizant if folks have children or pets that they don’t have to make arrangements for grueling pick up procedures. Some may find it as a nuisance, but it sure a beats waiting in line on what could’ve been a day of inclement weather, fortunately the latter has been weather cooperative. Your not your best unless you try to be better everyday and that is something I try to instill and emulate in all of our staff including myself. I give 110 percent today as I did when I purchased the business in 2007 it’s how you be your best and there may be better folks out there than me and that is okay in my book, but they will not outwork me from trying to be.

Last, but most important to end my thanks with the folks that I start my day with and end my day with every day and every week. This crew is beyond humble, their diligent, their determined and they take my vision and desire to be more ambitious and fruitful and they make it a reality. None of what we do is possible without them and I can’t emphasize that enough. As a small business you are just a thumb tack without quality employees. My chef Jesse gets in before sun rise and he doesn’t stop until it’s his time to go along with our inside staff, our delivery staff and my outside catering team daily. You don’t meet people in todays world like them any longer and if you do it is truly a rarity. When others have said no On The Go has made those no responses a yes and that is what makes you who you are as a team and as a company. With that said, my thanks isn’t just for tomorrow’s holiday it’s for every day. You all trust us to get it done daily and we will continue to earnestly do so alongside our staff.

Thank you as well to YWCA & Chefs Warehouse for the 235 turkey dinner boxes lunches for their employees and YWCA for all their pro active initiatives as well as Pine Hill Gas for being one of our paramount retail clients for many years.

As your aware Boars Head Meat Products has issued both voluntary and mandatory recalls. The mandatory recalls were for Liverwurst and Bologna and specialty hams we do not use while the voluntary recalls have been made to light as of the last few days. I've been directly in contact with local Boar's Head Distributor owner at wee hours of morning and evenings when this all came to light. They acted immediately and with due diligence to ensure the safety of their vendor partners and every customer who purchases their brand. Every item produced corporately has a slot date and code for this particular reason so in the event of the like it can be traced and stripped from the shelves of its retailers. The production facility with the outbreak only produces a few of the hundreds of items Boars Head distributes and that plant has ceased operations since. Those codes and production dates are NOT in our facility whatsoever they were production dates not in our local distributor's warehouse or ours and we do not keep product in stock long enough due to our high volume. Supermarkets sell other brands in addition to Boar's Head brand hence cutting these on the same slicers any of their other brands now become potentially contaminated that creates a whole bigger issue for those outfits. It is hard enough running a business in today's world we haven't completed decades in business by being lackluster, I am in our facility every day and I operate and manage every facet of our business. We sell thousands of sandwiches weekly with multiple deliveries of product a week so I can assure you of one thing, we care about quality and the product that leaves our facility over any dollar. We will never ever serve product in question or with a recall of any kind. Boars Head companies will continue to do what it has to do alongside the USDA to correct and navigate this turbulence for their company. I will continue to stay abreast of any updates or further insight from the brand to keep you all safe and the use of their products in our facility safely.
