WAKE UP NEW YORK

It’s sad with all the regulations that we have ALWAYS had in place for residential tented events by the east end towns, we are still limited to only 25 people for a backyard event and 10 people indoors.

It’s also sad because it effects EVERY business from farmers, fishermen, tourism, summer’s employment & special event professionals.

The typically Hamptons backyard party not a wedding costs 30k and some 500k to 1 million. These are again are NOT weddings.

Residential Weddings costs typically start at 75k - 1 million.

NYS Officials have no clue how severe their lack of understanding is negative impacting the east end economy.

For example, in 2018 it was estimated that 60 million dollars were brought in to the North Fork from 400 registered events.

Many businesses can not survive with another season like last year. Each day the state delays, more weddings are either being postponed or canceled.

Our local town supervisors and mayors understand and are united with the special event industry. It’s some of the state assembly and governors office that have no clue.
