Mauldin Cultural Center

Mauldin Cultural Center The Center is managed by the City of Mauldin's Office of Cultural Affairs. Currently, MCC hosts almost 30,000 people and more than 1,000 events annually.

Founded in 2004, the Mauldin Cultural Center hosts almost 30,000 people and over 1,000 events annually through various arts programs, community events, theatre & private rentals. OUR MISSION

The Mauldin Cultural Center was created to establish, develop and promote a cultural system that celebrates the Mauldin community, leverages the arts for the economic benefit of the City and its citizens, and

strives to give all citizens and visitors the ability to experience and participate in artistic and cultural activities in an effort to continually develop a more vibrant community. OUR HISTORY

The Mauldin Cultural Center (MCC) is the product of community partners all with the vision of developing a cultural center for the City of Mauldin. Originally Mauldin High School, and later Mauldin Elementary School, the building was constructed in 1937 as a WPA Project and has since seen a few minor updates as the schools grew. In 2003, the City of Mauldin began the process of purchasing the 14 acre property as the first step toward creating a City Center. The City constructed the Mauldin Sports Center as the first phase of this initiative on the property and then turned attention to the old school building, developing it into the Mauldin Cultural Center. A city-owned property, MCC is managed under the Office of Cultural Affairs, which continually works to improve and renovate the building and surrounding grounds. We offer a wide-range of arts education classes, live concerts, theater performances, comedy, art exhibits, a public art trail, and other community events. OFFICE OF CULTURAL AFFAIRS

The Office of Cultural Affairs (OCA) is responsible for managing the cultural and artistic assets of the City, as well as offering artistic services to the community, residents and visitors of Mauldin. Whether it’s hosting a free concert at the Cultural Center, helping a local artist open his/her first gallery, or working with a local school on an art collaboration, the OCA is dedicated to ensuring our arts community has the right tools it needs to thrive. The OCA is focused on using the arts as a tool for economic development and works with various City departments, businesses, nonprofits, agencies and individuals to ensure that the arts are integrated into the community. The OCA offers resources, engagement opportunities, performance/display opportunities and infrastructure to artists, residents and visitors and develops innovative methods to use the arts for community enhancement. Striving to be a national model and leader, the OCA also promotes the arts industry as a whole through networking, advocacy and various collaborations.

‼️ Updates for the Week Ahead - Trash, Debris, Road Clearing, Power & More ‼️

🗑️ Trash will be picked up on a normal schedule this week, and last Friday’s trash will be picked up on Monday, Sept. 30.

♻️ There will be no recycling pickup this week, because the recycling center is closed. If your recycling can is out, it will be treated as a trash can.

🌳 Storm debris will be picked up based on the zone schedule, but because of the volume of debris, the schedule may not be adhered to completely. Please make sure to place debris along the roadway, out of the road. See the zone schedule here:https://cityofmauldin.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/2023-2024-Limb-Collection-Zone-Schedule-v.1.pdf

💪 Thanks to the tireless efforts of the Public Works Department and the Mauldin Fire Department, all roads have been cleared of downed trees, except those with trees entangled in power lines. For those trees, we are coordinating with Duke Energy to ensure no electrical discharge is present or possible. After that, we can remove the tree and Duke can address the line.

🏢 All City offices will be CLOSED on Monday, Sept. 30 due to lack of power.

🏛️ All court sessions this week are CANCELED and will be rescheduled.

🏈 All Mauldin Recreation youth activities are canceled for Monday, Sept. 30 due to conditions.

💡 We are gradually seeing power restored in more sections of the City, and Duke Energy estimates that power should be restored to most locations by Friday at the latest.

🏥 Medical Needs Shelter Triage line - this line is for residents with electricity-dependent medical needs. Please call 855-472-3432 and they will triage you to the nearest medical needs shelter.

🧊 At this time, we do not have any publicly available ice at City public facilities. The County is working on sourcing ice for the public, and once that happens we will make an announcement. If you know of a place where ice is available, please drop it in the comments ⬇️

We will continue to provide updates as they are available. As always, stay safe!
