Flower farm winters aren’t exactly Instagram-ready—think frost cloth and burlap, not lush blooms. We wrapped everything up to give our eucalyptus and dahlias a shot at making it through to spring. It’s not glamorous, and honestly, that’s why we don’t post much this time of year. But behind the scenes, we’re busy doing the not-so-pretty work that ensures a season full of beauty later on!

Just wrapped up these gorgeous commissioned pieces, and I couldn't be more thrilled with how they turned out! Each wreath is a labor of love, made entirely from flowers we’ve grown, harvested, and dried right here at Nana's Blue Greenhouse. These pieces were specially crafted for clients who wanted a one-of-a-kind touch of nature in their homes. 🌿🌸

Every bloom tells a story — from planting the seeds to watching them flourish and then carefully drying each one to preserve its beauty. It’s an honor to create art that brings the outdoors in and adds a personal, handcrafted element to someone’s space. Thank you for trusting me with your vision!

We’re almost done with all our weddings for the year and looking back over this years weddings has been amazing.

We opened up to weddings last year and we’ve had the chance to work with so many wonderful brides 👰‍♀️❤️

We’re opening our books up for the 2025 season. We’re selective with the weddings we take as we want all our brides to love their flowers and the atmosphere they create.

We only take a certain amount of weddings every year and use our own, home grown flowers to create the space of Your dreams.

If you’re getting married or have an event you need flowers for shoot us a message and we’ll see if we’re the right fit for your vision!

Swipe to see before and after ➡️

Sunflowers are a good place to start when growing your own flowers. Here’s a guide to help you get started:

Choose the Right Variety: Select sunflower varieties specifically bred for cutting, such as 'Sunrich' or 'ProCut'. These varieties produce long stems and large, sturdy flowers ideal for arrangements.

Prepare the Soil: Sunflowers thrive in well-drained, fertile soil with plenty of organic matter. Choose a sunny location with at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily.

Planting: Plant sunflower seeds directly into the garden after the last frost date in your area. Sow seeds 1 inch deep and 6-12 inches apart, depending on the variety (check seed packet for specific spacing).

Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged, especially during dry spells. Water deeply once a week, or more frequently in hot weather.

Fertilizing: Sunflowers are not heavy feeders, but a balanced fertilizer applied at planting time can encourage healthy growth. Avoid high-nitrogen fertilizers, as they can promote excessive leaf growth over flower production.

Pest and Disease Control: Monitor for pests like aphids or caterpillars, and treat with organic methods if needed. Sunflowers are generally resilient but can be susceptible to fungal diseases in humid conditions.

Harvesting: Harvest sunflowers when the petals begin to open and the center disc flowers are fully developed. Cut the stem at an angle just above a leaf node using sharp scissors or garden shears.

Arranging: Immediately place harvested sunflowers in a bucket of water. Remove leaves that will be submerged in the water to prevent bacterial growth. Arrange in vases or containers filled with fresh water and change the water every few days to prolong vase life.

By following these steps, you can enjoy a beautiful display of sunflowers in your cutting garden throughout the growing season, bringing joy with each freshly cut bouquet.

And if growing isn’t fit you but you love fresh flowers, we’re your girls 😉 call us or send us a DM and arrange a farm pick-up or a drop off in one of our locations!

Nothing quite like a row of zinnias to match the sunset ❤️

We’ve noticed that our direct seeded zinnias do much better than our transplants when it comes to early production.

Has anyone else experienced this with zinnias or any other flowers?
