DANCE SPACE's GUIDELINES

*What Dance Space Encourages:*
1. Creative expression through dance for physical, mental, and spiritual health.
2. Working and playing with a full range of emotions
3. A space that welcomes all bodies and all ages and all levels of dance experience
4. Enthusiastic consent when interacting with other dancers, physically or just in proximity
5. Proactive and respectful welcoming of:
a. people new to ecstatic dance
b. people from non-dominant cultures
c. people of all gender expressions
d. people of all ages
e. people with differently abled bodies

*What Dance Space Actively Discourages:*
1. Conversations or cell phones the dance floor
2. Shoes on the dance floor
3. Photography
4. Arriving intoxicated or coming with intoxicating substances
5. Causing harm on the dance floor through things like:
a. obsessive staring
b. physical touch without explicit and enthusiastic consent
c. dancing closely without explicit and enthusiastic consent
d. trying to initiate romantic connections

*What Dance Space Promises:*
To uphold a zero-tolerance policy towards anyone who causes harm on the dance floor. Dancing at Dance Space is a privilege and people’s personal safety is of the highest concern. If a person causes harm while participating at Dance Space, they will be asked to not come back no matter their intent in the situation.
