Folks, we love our community. So it’s with a heavy heart that we have to offer rewards for info about whoever destroyed our hay maze.

160 bales of hay were provided by Dan River Insurance, Uncle Bucks World, and the Mayodan Merchants Association.

Hundreds of cornstalks from Foothills Farm Festival.

Hours of volunteer time so our community can play and feel loved.

The maze was ransacked this Sunday evening, hours after we co-hosted Movie in the Park and trick or treating.

We teamed up with Dan River Insurance Services, Inc., Uncle Bucks World, and Downtown Mayodan Merchant Association to build a kid’s hay maze at Elliot Duncan Park!

Swing by to let the kids play, and don’t forget this Saturday at 6pm- we have Trick-or-Treat Movie Night at the park. Free family fun in Mayodan!

Rediscover our local Freetown here at Basecamp through next week. This thriving Black community operated independently without government representation, incorporation, or assistance. Thanks to the impressive work of Kitty Williams you can see the community map, its many stores, and even structures that are still standing in Madison/Mayodan today! History surrounds us here in West Rock and we are grateful to host and to help our community remember Freetown.
