It’s one of our favorite times of year at MeadowView - hay harvest! The ample spring rain and fertilization has made for great hay this year. Can you guess how many bales we’re already at this year? It’s certainly labor intensive cutting and baling all the hay, but there are many benefits. Not only is it beautiful seeing the bales across the meadow, but it’s very important for our longhorn cattle, as this hay will keep them fed throughout the winter.

Life at MeadowView is always an adventure. Here’s a behind the scenes look at “vet day” where we give our longhorns their vaccines and ear tags to help control pesky summer flies. This requires a lot of patience and skill, along with specialized equipment including a squeeze shoot, to keep the cows and us safe. Owning a herd of these cuties is a lot of work, but so worth it! 🐮
