Hello, friends!!
We are very excited to be able to offer everyone camping with us the opportunity to purchase a catered meal for dinner on both Friday and Saturday!! Friday night's dinner will be from Dante's Trattoria, and Saturday will be from the Silk Road Rest Stop. Each meal comes out to just $6.41/person.

These options are exclusive to those who will be in the campgrounds, and to Everyone camping with us (not only volunteers). You're encouraged to spread the word, as everything MUST be ordered by today, Friday afternoon!!

We will also be catering breakfast tacos to our campers on Saturday and Sunday mornings!! These must be ordered online using the form linked above, and paid for in cash.

The 2024 season of Sherwood Forest Faire is well on it's way to beginning, friends, and that means we are hard at work to prepare for another amazing ASL & DeafBlind Weekend!!

Great News!! We have EXPANDED our event once again! Since we have the security of a dedicated camping space within Sherwood's campground (near the showers!) for our community, we are working with DeafBlind Community of Texas to host a Campsite Social for everyone camping to come set up, hang out, and get to know each other before a weekend of revelry!

We will be catering a hot evening meal (with vegan and gluten free options) available to purchase for $5/person, open to ASL Program volunteers and Deaf Community patrons on both Friday and Saturday nights!! No potluck, no huge coolers - Just $5 in your own comfiest camp chair!

This new year has begun, and that means we are getting ready for the 2023 season of Sherwood Forest Faire!! And you know we couldn't have the Best Season Yet without ASL Weekend, so here are the details!!

We are back to hosting a full weekend event, and we have a dedicated camping space within Sherwood's campground for our community, open to volunteers and patrons!! Are you as excited as we are?!

We're also working with DeafBlind Camp of Texas to extend equitable access to more folks who want to visit our village and experience the magic!! Camping, too!!! We could not be more jazzed!!!

As always, if you'd like to get involved and volunteer, please find the link below to learn more and submit your information! In 2019 we had 56 volunteers help us make Sherwood a Deaf- and ASL-friendly space. We were on our way back to that in 2022... Let's TOP that in 2023!!

We hope everyone got home safely after having a wonderful day!

We'd like to send out a huge shout out to our 30+ incredible volunteers who showed up, endured the bright heat, and kept up genuine smiles and support for each other. You guys fill our hearts and make ALL of this shared magic and fun Possible. You are advocates and supporters of equitable access in the truest sense. Thank you so very much.

Thank you to our patrons, who make this work fun and worthwhile, simply by coming in with your eyes and hearts open to something new, sometimes strange, and always worth a story. You deserve equitable access, respect, and to have your identity honored. Your feedback is highly valued. Thank you.

Today was another beautiful and successful day of building bridges, increasing the unique community of SWFF ASL Volunteers that we have, and continue to, build. Sharing Culture and Community in a low pressure setting, while giving back to the ASL and ITP students for their diligence and commitment to filling the many seats where our society needs interpreters, is hugely rewarding and humbling. To our CI volunteers and friends, we truly could not do this if you didn't agree to donate your time and labor in a wild and wacky environment.

Sherwood Forest Faire is truly one of a kind, and each year ASL Weekend grows to include more encouragement, support, and healthy connections. We can't imagine what more could we possibly ask.

Shower, friends. 🤟 Rest.
Then let's get ready to do it all again! 🤩

It's time for our favorite post of the year, friends!

Saturday, April 2, 2022 will be the single day event for Sherwood's ASL Program this year. As always, from 10am - Dusk, we will be filling the Forest with interpreted shows by our vibrant volunteer interpreters.

Each Spring, we gather qualified professional interpreters and group them with interpreting students and interns, as well as various other wonderful volunteers, to make our beloved medieval faire as Deaf and ASL friendly as is possible!!

Hello, Sherwood ASL Weekend Community!! We are absolutely *thrilled* to announce WE'RE BACK in 2021!!

Our beloved medieval faire has created a Prime Directive centered around keeping all patrons and participants safe to enjoy the breezy outdoor fun all season long!

From 10am- Dusk, we will be filling the air with shows interpreted by brilliant volunteers - certified professional interpreters and the students and interns they will be mentoring.

Please note:
Masks/ face coverings are required for everyone over the age of 3 years, at all times in the village. The single exception is when one is sitting or standing to eat, at a minimum distance of 6 feet from anyone not in their household.
