Smith wanted to bring a solution to a challenge that a community was facing. He believed that he had to do something to attract people to the downtown area so they can see what he sees in this vibrant area. John purchased a vacant building, affectionately known as the “Hostess building”, and began renovations, mostly using his own labor. After two years of a “labor of love,” he had turned the buil

ding into a brand-new event venue that offers so many possibilities. Smith’s Central Garage, located at 3315 Pearl St., McHenry, offers 3,500 square feet of flexible meeting and banquet space. The venue also offers complete flexibility allowing you to bring in your own food and beverages. The garage provides the tables and chair, you add your creativity and personal touch with decorations. Additional amenities include complimentary high-speed internet service, audio visual equipment and more. “The newly renovated garage is truly a blank canvas.” says Jillian Giese, Venue Manager at Smith’s Central Garage. “From the well thought out event space to the boasting state-of-the-art technologies combined with the flexibility allows you see the versatility we have to offer as a hospitality venue. ”

We always get asked... "How long does it take to set up all of these chairs?" While this time lapse is 21 seconds for viewing time purposes ;) it takes anywhere from 30-120 minutes, depending on guest count. We can't wait to set up the next Ceremony Backdrop to another love story next weekend!
