Another feel good moment this holiday season, as Ignite Medical Resort sent this guy home this week sporting one of the hats Char brought him from Post 491!

We are proud of Thomas and his achievements, which resulted from his hard work. It was an honor to present him with his gold medal at Ignite Medical Resort McHenry today! 🥇🌟

Come get in the Christmas spirit with us on this chilly winter day!

Santa 🎅🏽 will be in the house from 1-3PM for “Selfies with Santa” in front of our Christmas backdrop and tree. 🌲 At the same time, we will have ornaments available to decorate so we can make tree more festive!

No charge for pictures or ornaments and open to the public! Come on by for a cocktail or something non-alcoholic and help us spread that holiday cheer…

Tonight, our combined TAL and SAL members had the privilege of properly folding a flag in honor of a veteran who passed earlier this year. 🇺🇸

Let’s make our last karaoke night of 2024 the best one yet! 🥳

The fun starts at 8PM and goes until 11PM so grab your friends and family and join us after dinner for drinks and singing!
Next Thursday we will be OPEN but we will be broadcasting the Bears VS Seahawks game with kickoff at 7:25. Karaoke will resume the following Thursday in its normal time slot.

These are the moments that warm our hearts and make us SO proud…

While we love and appreciate ALL of the veterans, tonight one of our favorite veterans was honored at the Chicago Blackhawks game! Army Private, Zenon Sasak, had the amazing opportunity to stand up during the National Anthem alongside of Marine Corps Private First Class, Brian Breen and Jim Cornelison.

Thank you to Russ Hyatt, the SAL Commander and his crew for loading up our McHenry American Legion trailer with the 288 wreaths!! We will be honoring our departed veterans at Saint Patrick’s Cemetery and Saint Patrick’s Countryside Cemetery in McHenry on Sunday, December 15th. If you’d like to volunteer and help us with the wreath placements and be a part of this ceremony, please meet us at the McHenry American Legion at 11 AM for coffee and donuts. Once we are all warmed up, we will head to Saint Patrick’s Countryside Cemetery first and then Saint Patrick’s Cemetery last.
