💛2 years of being your wife—and I couldn’t ask for anything better in my life 🥰

Today is my hubby and I’s 2nd wedding anniversary! With the special occasion upon us, I’ve been out of office since Friday and will continue to be out of office until Thurs Oct 24th so we can properly celebrate! 🥂

✨A Wedding with a View🏛️

J+D had the most amazing wedding day back in May as the roses bloomed and so did their love story 🥰 J+D absolutely adore DC, and it was so special to them that they could find a venue that provides one of the most picturesque views of the iconic monuments that make DC so recognizable 🏛️🇺🇸

✨Come with me and you’ll be in a world of pure L O V E (that’s not your imagination 😉) ✨

I don’t know why but that is what runs through my head every time I look at S+T’s engagement photos that we took at the Library of Congress! There’s just something magical about capturing a love story while being surrounded by amazing architecture and history as the city bustles around you 📚🏛️

I have to admit that I am embarrassed at how long it took me to post their session (yeaaaa…these are from April 🫣), but it’s better late than never! These two have tied the knot since our session together, and so we are wishing them all the best in their love story 🥰

I’m not kidding when I say that I am ✨crippled with anxiety✨ over what to post because I have such a backlog of sessions + weddings to share but I am also swamped with my editing queue so I don’t have time to sit and make a thoughtful caption about one of my amazing couples 🥲

✨Alright, I’ll wrap up my multi-post streak with some of my favorite colored images from M+A’s wedding day 🥰 K, see ya again in 2 weeks 😂

I wish I was kidding about the next time I’ll post again butttt I am officially “out of office” starting August 16th (TOMORROW) through August 26th because my hubby, pups, and I are M O V I N G 📦🚚 Don’t worry—we aren’t going far but we have lots of packing to do…and then we’ll have lots of unpacking to do…🥲 so wish us luck!!

I’ll be checking messages periodically but please pardon any delays! Let’s be real—I’d like to be at least somewhat settled in our new home before diving fully back into work 🤭 I know y’all can understand that feeling 😜

✨Well, it’s our 2nd birthday here at Love, Lomax Studios and I believe it’s time for a little About Me post 🥰 It’s only been 11 months since the last one 🥴

For those who are new here or have been creeping for a while, my name is Karisa Lomax! I am the owner and lead photographer here at Love, Lomax Studios 😊📸

Here are some random facts about me that you may or may not need to know (ya never know—there could be a trivia question about me one day 😂)
* I moved to the DMV in June of 2023 from Florida 🌴
* My husband is in the Coast Guard 🇺🇸
* Mimosas are my FAVORITE adult beverage ever 🥂
* I am a mama to 2 fur babies—Riley & Flynn 🐕🦮
* This is my 2nd career! I worked as a RN throughout COVID before turning to photography as a full-time career 💉🏥🩺
* Give me chocolate or cheesecake and we will be best friends forever 🤝🍫

Over the last year, I’ve had the honor of capturing 19 wedding days and 66 sessions of all types 💛 That’s quite a busy year, especially for it being my first year in a whole new state/area!

I am SO grateful to each and every client of mine who has put their trust in me to capture them and their special days ✨💛 It is truly one of the highest honors I could ever be given, and it is something that lights me up day in and day out 🥰

✨My session this morning at the Jefferson reminded me that I never got around to posting this beautiful session from May 😱😅

N+M absolutely nailed this session and I can’t stop thinking about how I want that same blue dress she is wearing 😍 Seriously, they made my job so easy and I couldn’t be more grateful for amazing clients like them 🥰

I am wishing them all the best in their wedding planning and marriage ✨💍💛 And I am SO glad we were lucky enough to snag one of those bridge shots because access to the water is officially blocked off due to the seawall renovations 😭 But I know it will look amazing once it is complete!
