It’s my favorite season and I’m out walking around foraging a lot. Trying to make a mental map of the perfect greens to return to for evergreen wreath making. My dream is to one day live on a property that has a wide variety of trees to prune and source for my projects… and to also have a persimmon tree one day too! They’re my favorite. 🤩 Let me know if you happen to live on a tree farm and need some help pruning your trees!! I have so many workshops to gather for this year.

Im so happy to announce that we’ll be offering two more workshops this year! One option will be on Saturday 11/30 from 2-4, in their greenhouse. I will be providing hot chocolate!
And the other option will be on Sunday 12/8 from 1:30-3:30pm at their North location! We will be offering a glass of wine!

Hi! I’m Katie, the owner of Dearhouse Collective. I’ve been quiet on socials for a minute as I was focusing on my baby girl and helping my partner open a pizza shop! We are having a very busy year, to say the least. Well, I’m just saying hello. But also, I’m ready to create again. So if you’re looking to collaborate or want some installations in your home, studio, office or winery- message me! I’ve been dusting the cobwebs off and creating in my own studio for my own projects and I feel ready to come back to Dearhouse after having my baby. Thank you for allowing me all the time I needed to be with her!
Oh- also… remember the wreath workshops I used to teach? Those will be back. So stay tuned because I’ll post some info about when and where soon. 💋

For those of us with incomes, I would love to heart about which small businesses you are supporting this holiday season! I know the allure of Amazon and “Black Friday” discounts are approaching… but I just wanted to share a little bit about what supporting ‘small business’ actually means. For Dearhouse, it means you are supporting a single momma and two teens. (who are constantly growing and eating!) You are supporting the ability to work flexibly for our family dynamic and providing the access to a warm, cozy and safe home to exist peacefully in!
I am so thankful for the support I receive for my business and never take it for granted. This season I am busy teaching wreath workshops, and with each person that signs up I feel so thankful and do a little happy dance.

Each arrangement will be full of modern, soft hued, and romantic autumnal florals in a low laying vase. That way you can chat with your cute friends/family across the table easily!

As you approach,
the days get shorter- the nights longer.
This is not a season of haste.
The “doing” energy of summer wanes- and the season of letting go starts to take its place.
I am tuning inward, like a dial on an old radio. I want to pay attention to what subtlety emerges.
I want to listen.

The basis and inspiration for my work has always been deeply inspired by the paintings by Dutch masters and their incorporation of light + texture. This arrangement is one of my most favorites I’ve ever created. It’s inspiring me this week.

Things are changing over here. I’m taking a bit of a sabbatical from fresh florals, and will be using this platform to show the installations I’m building and dreaming up.
I was feeling the urge to slow down from where I was being pulled with Dearhouse and switch paths for a bit. Underneath it all, I’ve always remained an artist. I need a bit of a pause to allow my mind the space it needs to receive new inspirations.
I am excited to follow that pause, as I’ve already started receiving little glimpses of what I’d like to create. Thanks for following along.

If you haven’t heard from me in a bit… that’s why. I’ll be responding to all my installation requests this week. 😘

Hi friends! Long post ahead: The last few years have allowed me to really evaluate where the source of my joy comes from in floral design. I have noticed that I feel the most passionate and alive when I am creating installations. It can be for people that want to elevate their spaces with something large scale, curating a backdrop for a photo studio and even bring a small installation into a client’s home.
I suppose this is my little announcement to say that I’ve made some changes for my company, Dearhouse, and I will be stepping away from floral design and focusing specifically on installations.
I thank each and every client that I’ve had who has trusted me to make something beautiful for them and with them. I am thankful for the beauty that I have been able to make so far!
I am just going to follow what brings me the most satisfaction in my creative abilities and step toward a new path.
Thanks for your support as I transition onto a new focus.
I will no longer be taking orders for weddings, elopement’s, styled shoots and small weekly’s for fresh florals.
I will happily chat further about your installation or dried floral needs for these types of orders, however!
I have edited my website to be reflective of my new venture and I’ll be working more as an artist rather than a floral shop! Please follow along for workshop listings and how to contact me as an artist for your space.
