Our Story
At the end of a private country road, The Perch House and Hall awaits your family and friends. Spread across 2 acres, there is enough room to park your crew and their boats. The front yard is fenced in and filled with crepe myrtles of brilliant red and flower beds full of vibrant colors of the season. Walk from your car to the open breezeway and experience a park like view of Lake Placid, a constant level lake that will take your breath away. Down the rolling hill you will find a well manicured lawn and boat dock. The large dock has seating for your crew to watch the fantastic and exciting water sports that Lake Placid is known for. Early mornings at The Perch are best experienced here on this dock...just high enough to experience the rising sun and watch the many ducks and egret birds skim the water. At the waters edge dangle your feet, cast your pole and stay awhile. We have tie-offs for your boat and plenty of bench seating at the dock to enjoy Lake Placid ALL DAY!
The outdoor experience doesn't end with the Lake front The Perch newest facility is right next door. The Perch Hall Wedding Venue is a 1300 square foot covered pavilion equipped with 10 farmhouse tables and 20 matching benches. The perfect setting for your "Big Day" Not only is the outdoor experience AMAZING you will love coming into the house from a day of play. Every detail of The Perch will remind you to breathe...you are on vacation! The kitchen is the hub of every home...vacation or not! There is plenty of pantry and storage for multiple family use. There are 3 refrigerators on the property because we know first hand that if you feed them they will come! Enjoy meals with your family around our custom farm table, polka dotted and retro bar stools. The bedroom immediately off the kitchen, “The White Wing”, has a beautiful 4 poster queen bed, large armoire and flat screen TV and DVD player. The bathroom has tons of storage as well. Through the “White Wing” is the bunk room we lovingly refer to as “The Nest”. You will find 4 custom made bunk beds with “oars” as the railing...so cute!! Each bunk has its own light and outlet for recharging those gadgets...though its likely they will forget all about them after a day at Buck’s Perch! There is also a twin trundle bed with the comfiest mattresses EVER! “The Nest” has a large built in storage system for suitcases, games and a great place for hide and seek! Head upstairs to, “The Master”. My goodness it will be hard to pick which room is your favorite! With painted pine wood floors and soft gray and coral bedding, this room says exhale!! The king bed and large dresser is perfect for the master suite. The Perch has incredible views of Lake Placid and the manicured park-like lawns. The Pecan Trees and Cypress trees still tower over you as you sip your coffee on the private balcony. Open the french doors wide to experience the outdoors without having to roll your relaxed self out of bed! Hey Y’all, our best surprise for you is “The Fish Camp”! Fish Camp is it’s own unique apartment space. Open the door and walk down the hombre blue (thats a fancy way of saying really cool) basement steps. You will be greeted with red leather couches, a gigantic flat screen TV and sound system. The Fish Camp has its own fridge, microwave and full bathroom. Behind the sliding barn doors you will find 2 queen beds, flat screen TV with DVD player, dresser and large closet. There are also 3 mattressed twin cots to add additional sleepers. The large sectional couch and ottoman make a full bed as well. This by far has been the most complimented and praised area of the house! We can’t wait for you to experience it as well. Just because the sun goes down does not mean your day has to end. The well lit deck off the main house, the lit dock and deck at the lake, the breeze way rocking chairs or the hot tub are all fabulous options for winding down. Yes I said hot tub...the fancy kind too! Our goal is to make “The Perch House and Hall” the happiest and brightest re-occurring trip on your calendar for years to come!
