Today's Christine's Corner Topic: Hosting Beverages for Your Event.

If you are planning a private event or a wedding reception, here is some food for thought when planning a hosted bar for your guests:

1. You know your guests better than anyone. Make a quick list of your guests and summarize what they like to drink. We have an extensive bar inventory that our Bar Manager works with, so we will almost certainly have available what your guests like, and this will get us an idea of what you should be hosting for the party.

2. Decide if you want to host beverages for a specific time frame or up to a certain dollar amount. If you have a ballpark budget and have an idea if you want the party to be low key or if you want guests to stay all night, for example, then we can easily help guide you on quantities to host. If your guests don't consume some of what we planned for your private event, you will be reimbursed for this after the party. Better to be fully stocked and error on the high side is my recommendation!

3. Private events and wedding receptions are very special life events, and they should be amazing and memorable! Remember that and use your heart when you are planning and the rest will fall into place!

"An adult beverage or two while celebrating or socializing at an event definitely helps people get loose and can lead to laughs, reminiscing and catching up with others, and even dancing!"

P.S. if you don't see your favorite wine or beer on our menu or in Robert's Restaurant & Bar, it doesn't necessarily mean we cannot order it for your event!

We have a new segment today, Missy's Memorable Events! Our Catering & Events Director Missy Miller has TONS of experience and we will look back over her most memorable events!

"I would say hors d’oeuvres menus that consist of many different flavors, textures and colors are my favorite. Guests LOVE to see something new and different for wedding foods such as Grilled Vegetables with a Chipotle Aioli, Nacho Station or something like Maple Bacon Sticks. You do not have to have a “Standard” wedding dinner anymore and you can play around with desserts too, such as donuts and mousse cups. These give the guests an opportunity to mingle and socialize more. It also never hurts to add in something unexpected like Fireball Shots at the bar :)"
