It is with bittersweet emotions that we at J & L Catering announce our retirement from catering. We have accomplished an incredible amount over the last 17+ years in business! We’ve grown from driving a car to tastings in clients’ homes to opening a takeout (twice!) to our current professional kitchen and space today. We have catered 1000s of events, fed thousands of people, celebrated joyous occasions, created & served just about every type of international cuisine and local food as well, and become lifelong friends with clients and staff! We donated thousands of meals, had a radio show “Effortless Entertaining,” kept you fed through Covid, and pivoted when needed. We have also laughed with clients, made what seemed impossible at an event work (usually without your knowledge;)), and- miraculously enough, kept the rain away at just about every outdoor event we catered!
However, we are not as young as we once were, and our executive chef’s health is our number one priority. John Boardman needs another shoulder surgery- and unfortunately, the doctor has said he will continue to need them if he keeps going back to catering. Four shoulder surgeries is about as many as anyone can withstand 😢 We cannot continue to provide the excellent quality and service we have without sacrificing his health - which we need to focus on moving forward.
We will be forever grateful to our community, our family and our clients for your unwavering support and belief in us as a small local catering company. We truly appreciate your business and smiles at our events!
We have a few weddings remaining which we are of course excited to cater! After that, our space is available for lease, and we will be selling our business supplies. Please let us know if you’re interested in our catering equipment and kitchen supplies; the landlord can be reached directly regarding our lease.
Eat well and stay in touch!!
