I had an idea last week when I found some old lace scraps. So I recovered the old shades in lace and pearls and hung chandelier prisms from them. I found the crystal lamps at an auction. I wanted a feminine touch among the wood barrels, wagon wheels, antlers and grapevine. Just another little decorating option for our wedding parties to use if they would like.

Last year, was our first year and we were ecstatic to have 26 wonderful contestants. We were overjoyed at the thought and creativity demonstrated in these creations and we had a blast! We can't wait to see what wonderful entries you will come up with this year.

Snow days were a wonderful time for me to catch up on some projects, and watch way too many "Shabby Chic Country Wedding" videos on Utube. I love strands of pearls, cheesecloth runners, antique ladie's gloves, old skeleton keys, wood bowls, old colored bottles, etc...

This is our newest holiday addition that was purchased in the Spring of this year at an estate auction.
This old sleigh is 114 years old!!!
It was manufactured in a Carriage Factory in Wayne, Michigan.
It was later purchased by Mr Gordon's family in 1948 and ended up in a chicken coop for years. Mr Gordon rescued the sleigh and him and his wife road it in the Christmas parade in Springfield TN numerous years.
At the Spring auction, I had the privilege of meeting Mr Gordon and to hear stories of his wonderful memories, enjoying the sleigh, with his wife. Unfortunately, he lost his lovely wife last fall and it was a time to make some life changes, hense the sale of sleigh.
At the auction, I took down his number and promised to send him pics this Christmas. I forwarded the pics to him tonight. He called me immediately tickled to see his wonderful project, was still being used and enjoyed.
We love how we find these old treasures that we collect as well as the friendships/acquaintances made from them. What a special night.

Wedding prices must do so no later than December 31, 2024. To reserve your 2025 wedding date requires 50 percent down on the Gathering Barn as well as a signed contract.

It's been a busy but wonderful day celebrating this special day of Thanksgiving. But we couldn't end the day without expressing our gratitude. We want to thank each and everyone that has allowed us the opportunity to host your special event and also those that rented cabins from us. Whether you know it or not, each and everyone of you have made a positive influence in our lives, in your own unique ways. While we were hosting your special day making your lifelong memories, you were also making fond memories for us to reminisce of. We often look back on events of not just this year but of years past. You may have started as customers but you will always be considered our friends and we appreciate your support as well as including us in your celebrations. We are humbled by your support.
They say it's never a job when you enjoy what you do and we wouldn't change a thing, even some of those 14 hour days. We love this life. We are blessed. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
