mance in the room, before the then gospel trio signed with Sun Records in the spring of 1955. The Abbey continues the room’s rich musical legacy by establishing a market in Memphis for up-and-coming artists from a wide variety of musical tastes ranging from bluegrass to hip-hop and all points in between. On any given night of the week, our 200 capacity venue boasts the best local and national talent. We are currently located at 1015 S. Cooper (corner of Cooper and Walker, Midtown) Memphis, TN 38104.
