As a wedding officiant in Memphis, I’ve always made it a priority to personally ensure that each couple’s marriage license is handled with the utmost care. After watching the news about a postal worker discarding boxes of mail into the trash, I feel compelled to share why I never mail in the licenses I sign.

From the very beginning, I’ve believed in giving my couples the choice: I either hand-deliver the license to the appropriate office myself, or, if the couple prefers, I allow them to handle it so they can have peace of mind.
