My wedding photography isn't just about a bunch of pretty pictures. It's not hard to make pretty pictures of a wedding day. What's most important to me is to make pictures that are real and revealing of who this couple is today, for them to capture the feeling and honesty of such an important moment in their lives together.

Don’t forget the fun. There is so much that goes into the making and planning of your wedding day. I understand the desire for a perfect day, but if I have one word of advice to lend, it’s to let go of that on the actual day of, pet the chips fall where they will, and have all the fun! You only get to do this once, if anything it should be fun.

Just saying, I always have the best time, basking in all the happy, and getting to document it all.

Clint and Kristine met me at Cypress Grove near sunset. This was the product of a simple walk together. That’s how I do it. We meet up, take a walk somewhere pretty, and make pictures together. So many clients begin by telling me how nervous and uncomfortable they are about having their picture taken. Really and truly being photographed by the right photographer can be so much fun and the results better than you could have imagined. You are beautiful. Let me show you 😘

Your wedding day should be your way. You should be with the people that bring you joy, and celebrate exactly who you and your partner are. I love when couples show their true selves. Jon loves all things at nautical, and especially deep sea diving. Sherri loves all things Jon, so she gifted him this antique diving helmet as her wedding gift. I think he likes it! especially on your wedding day.

2021 has been quite a ride. 75 shoots and 20 video projects. Crazy, right?!? So many adventures with some really awesome people. I am grateful, so incredibly grateful. I hope for another busy year, full of creativity. I think perhaps I need to put a cap on bookings. Cheers 2021! And goodbye.

Looking back over 2021, I'm grateful to say it hasn't been too bad for me. I shot over 70 photo sessions, and managed to find time in between shooting and editing to adventure with my husband and kids; mushroom hunting, tide pooling, beach walking, bread baking, wine tasting(with hubby not kiddos), and redwood forest exploring. I am blessed with all the things that make life worth living. Lucky me.

My series “Covid Kids” has been winning awards. Over the last couple of months International Photography Awards has recognized it with four honorable mentions, and their Jury Top 5! I’m so excited and honored. I wanted to share it with you. “Covid Kids” is a documentation through portraiture of children today; growing up with an awareness of their mortality, the dangers of illness, and the loneliness of isolation.

There are so many short stories that make up a wedding day. I strive to capture each as they unfold, and honestly reflect their narrative. Emotions span the spectrum; joy, hope, excitement, passion, nervousness, contentment, comfort, and more. I bare witness and interpret it all into a visual journal, so that the day can live on, and be remembered on a visceral level.

I have had the very great pleasure of chronicling Jake and Em's love story. I photographed their elopement seven years ago and have met for multiple anniversary portraits over the years. And this year they brought their beautiful baby to Mendocino. I have the best job in the entire world. I document love. It's a beautiful thing💕

A wedding day is so much more than a pretty dress, fancy rings, and a big cake. It is a day to celebrate having found the one you want to spend the rest of your life with. You proclaim to your friends, family, and the world that you choose each other. Trust me, that after 20 years of marriage, it's not always easy, but everything else is easier with your best friend by your side to get through it all with. I love capturing the first pages of a couple's epic love story together. Every smile, gesture, and glance holds so much significance, but it is just the beginning. There is so much more to come!

Mendocino elopements are nothing short of magic. Jacob and Lia got exactly everything they wanted. A sweet softly lit afternoon, up on the cliffs of Mendocino. The waves crashed while pelicans soared about, and their beloved pup Charlie stood as witness to their "I do's." Cap it all off with a walk on a deserted beach, before a romantic dinner for two . Eloping means doing it your way. It's not for everyone, but for some it's just right, and perfectly wonderful.

A wedding is both an ending and a beginning. Atley and Jacob celebrated a lot of new with their nearest friends and family in an intimate ceremony at nestled in the gardens by the sea. The day was sweet, and so very genuinely them. It's interesting to only really truly get to know a person for the first time on their wedding day. I don't come to the day with any preconceived notions about who they are. The couple's personalities unfold for me with so much openness, in a way only the vulnerability of such an important experience can create. I love that. It's so seldom a person's first experience with another is so honest, and open, and real.
