The “Honor Mural” is now on permanent display in the American Legion Hall at the Merced’s Veterans Memorial Building! Congratulations to and to artists Lisa Gilliland-Viney and on today’s unveiling!

Funded through the Heartland Creative Corps, the “Honor Mural” is a series of 6 murals designed to honor the local Veterans of the five military branches of service, prior to the Space Corps. Veterans can be overlooked and underappreciated by the public. They serve in our armed forces, but are only celebrated a few times a year, mostly in parades. The “Honor Mural” will show the public that our service men and women can be celebrated every day. The mural honors local service men and women, and educates the public at the same time.
