The light here is magic. Even after all these years, it still takes me by surprise as it changes every hour. Early in the morning, I watch it bring alive the bronzed-gray of the maple in my writing desk. When I go into the kitchen to make tea, there it is again in long, dazzling rectangles on the floor. Even in January and February, the ever changing light plays a constant fugue. Whether inside or out, it keeps me in a state of perpetual Mozartian joy. - May Sarton, author of Plant Dreaming Deep..
