Let me tell you something about this special family. As many of you know, my son had a kidney transplant in August of 2022, well unbeknownst to us, at the same time, sweet baby Ellis was in Children's hospital at on the same unit fighting for his life due to low kidney functions and some other medical complications. Ellis had to be put on dialysis as an infant. Ellis's mom and I happened to meet by chance on our local town mom's group shortly after. It turns out we live only 2 blocks away from each other!! I am happy to report that about 2 months ago, after an almost 2 year rollercoaster, Ellis finally got a new kidney too, and he is doing great!! When you have a child with special medical needs, you establish a "different" kind of bond with those who have similar stories. You know that the other person just "gets it". This is the bond Nicole and I have, and it has been wonderful getting to know her, Ellis and his family. Ellis still has a long journey and has some other physical complications that require different expensive therapies that are not all covered by insurance, so, if you find it in your hearts to help out, I will put the link to help in the comments below

This is sweet baby Ellis who I hold close n my heart as he is a fellow kidney warrior. As many of you know my son is a kidney transplant recipient but this little guy is still in need of his new kidney. He has been through so much and continues to smile through it all.
