Today, the final headliner artist Otto () tells his story! 🌍🎶

“I am graduated from the Higher Institute of Art in Havana, Cuba. I recorded more than 40 discs among them ¨Visualízate¨de Gente de Zona (Grammy Latino 2016), ¨Orquesta Akokan¨ Orchestra Akokan a, ¨Area 52¨ by Rodrigo and Gabriela , Albita Rodriguez Acústico¨, etc..

In Cuba I worked with artists like Isaac Delgado, Alexander Abreu and Habana de Primera, Alain Perez, Descemer Bueno, Cesar Lopez and Habana Ensemble, Amadito Valdez, Jorge Luis Pacheco, etc, with whom he performed at prestigious venues in more than 30 countries (Japan, Germany, Spain, France, China, Canada, Sur Korea, Chile, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, etc..) like Lincoln Center in New York, Kennedy Center in Washington, Auditorium in Mexico, etc,

I am currently resides in Miami, is an independent artist and has his own Latin Jazz Trio with original music. I also play with different locals band like Palo, and I am collaborating with locals artist like Electrick Kiff , Magela Herrera, Alberto Puerto, and many other.”

Meet the stunning Patricia Ligia (), part of the headlining act at the upcoming Medicine Music Lounge Concert (Sunday May 7, 5-10PM)! 🎶✨

Patricia is a bass player and composer from Montevideo, Uruguay. She started studying music at the age of 9, but not until the age of 14 she grabbed the electric bass an immediately fell for it. She has recently graduated from Berklee College of Music with a major in Jazz Composition.

Patricia's musical training is very diverse; a mix of self-taught and formal/academic. Always in pursue of her musical concerns and interests. Her curiosity has led her to establish a musical relationship with her neighboring country, Brazil, from an early age. She has studied with distinguished bass players (Arthur Maia and Itiberé Zwarg) and participated in musical festivals in Curitiba, Rio de Janerio and São Paulo between 2012 and 2015.

In 2016 she won the FECFA Scholarship (Stimulus Fund for Artistic Creation and Training) in Uruguay which helped her to participate in a 3-week residency in Nashville, TN with Bassist Victor Wooten. There she met Steve Beiley, current chair of the Bass Department at Berklee, who urged her to audition to Berklee. One year later she was able to audition and received the scholarship that allowed her to come to Boston in 2018. She has been recognized by the Berklee Bass Department with the Jimmy Haslip Endowed Scholarship Award (2019), the Mike Gordon Award (2020), and from the Jazz Composition Department with the Melva Liston Award (2020) and Gil Evans Award (2021).

Meet Eren (), part of the headlining act at the upcoming Medicine Music Lounge Concert (Sunday May 7, 5-10PM)! 🎶✨

Eren was born in Turkey in a family of musicians. He started playing the kaval at the age of 11.

He completed his instrument education and master's studies at Istanbul Haliç University Traditional Turkish Music Conservatory.

In 2009, he released his first solo album, Kaval Adı, with pianist and composer Ali Akacca. In this album, classical music songs were performed by Kaval for the first time in Turkey and published by Universal Music.

In 2011, he won The Hollywood Music in Media Awards with his Turkish musician friends in Los Angeles and performed live music. He took the stage with Deborah Carter and Linley Marthe at the Azerbaijan Baku Jazz Festival in 2016.

He gave many performances at the Istanbul Akbank Jazz Festival.

Between 2006-2014, he took the stage as an instrumentalist in folk dance festivals in Turkey and all over Europe.

Since 2008, he has been accompanying Kaval, Ney, Kawala, Zurna, Duduk and other ethnic wind instruments in the albums, soundtracks and studio recordings of many artists.

In 2019, he made wind samples for Splice Music Company as a sound creator.

He accompanied Kaval as a soloist instrument at Carnegie Hall with the New York I. V Symphony Orchestra.

He has thesis and articles about Kaval.

Originally born in the seaside town of Barahona, Dominican Republic, his love of culture and art has guided him throughout the world — from the alps, to the steppe, to the south seas. 🌊

You’ll find the landscape of his music just as varied as the folk influences of the lands he’s walked, weaving through melody, rhythm, and sound to produce a colorful sonic tapestry that pays ode to beauty, nature, and the human condition. 🌎🌍🌏

Meet Katie Berns Lee (), Featured Artist of The Medicine Music Lounge Concert (Sunday May 7 at .district Oasis). ✨✨✨

Katie Berns Lee is a multi-dimensional world percussionist known for her interactive musical looping experience that takes the audience from the soil to the stars. 🌱💫🌎

She leads primal drum ceremonies through her company Drum Temple () where she helps men and women open their hearts, ground in, and express, and has added many of the elements of primal vocal and movement based expression from these experiences to her solo musical set. 🪘♥️🎶

Katie’s main instruments are the West African djembe and the marimba, among an assortment of other percussive and melodic instruments. 🎼✨✨

Simon Jano Sessions ()

Simon Jano Sessions is a musical project created by producer/songwriter Simon Jano, based on his experiences with sacred plants and ancestral shamanic teachings.

Simon Jano began his career in rock, pop, and electronic music, than 10 years as an independent producer of artists, film, and TV.

As an Art Rock artist, he released two albums and has collaborated with musicians such as Tony Levin, (bass player for Peter Gabriel, King Crimson) and Durga McBroom (Pink Floyd’s background vocals).

With his evolution as a musician, he is currently focused on producing and interpreting medicine/conscious music, birthing Simon Jano Sessions. A project that consists of several collaborations with other artists as well as solo reinterpretations.

His music is inspired by the legacy of Andean and Amazonian medicine music, Native American Lakota songs, Yoruba prayers, and other sounds that mark Simon’s path in his exploration of the inner self.

Productions under Simon Jano Sessions include "Camino de Estrellas", by Maestro Alonso Del Rio influenced by greats such as Brian Eno and Vangelis, The Native American classic "Lakota Lullaby", and the new highly anticipated release of “Abuelito Pinta” from medicine man Andres Cordoba on July 23rd, 2022.

Keysel is a Medicine and Folk musician with a background in Anthropological work.

It eventually led him to life overseas where, mixing his penchant for music with the varied and rich sounds of the Mongolian Steppe, he crafted a unique sound of mystical cadences and uplifting rhythms.

Now, back in Miami, his time with Indigenous elders has informed a colorful pallet of multi-instrumental medicine music which he uses to mix into a verdant panacea of sound.

Nik Olas is an instrument, a channeler of cosmic tones and healing sounds through the meta-instruments of voice, guitar, piano, percussion and the songwriting modality.
