I’m not one to share much about my personal life, but I’m breaking the rules today.
One year ago today, my life took a wild turn when my boy was born, and I became a mom.
Becoming a single mother by choice had been simmering for a long time, so I went all in once I reached the deadline I had set for myself.
For those who don’t know me personally, I’m very hard on myself and love a good challenge. I strive to be a better creative, a better leader, a better daughter and sister, and now, a better mom.
For women, It’s tough wanting it all: a career and a family. It’s the greatest of oxymorons. It’s not perfect, but it’s my version of perfect.
My boy is the most outstanding achievement of everything I have accomplished thus far. He motivates me to keep moving forward while knowing when to stop and take things slow. It’s true; time waits for no one, but patience does.
And so I’ve learned to ASK for patience, not only from others but from myself.
I want to thank my team for your support and my family and friends who have been my cheerleaders since day one; even the hard-asses need someone to hold their hand.
And to all the moms reading this: you got this, babe.
