Inkub8 inkub8 is an Alternative studio/ performance space in Miami located in the heart of Wynwood!! It’s a place where you apply heat to a project and watch it grow.

What is an incubator? It’s a way to increase the survival rate of struggling art forms. It’s a way to observe, question and relish the processes we engage in as artists that focus on the journey as much as the final product. It’s a space that reorders the hierarchy of ‘audience ready’ and makes process a

s important as product. Inkub8 is a contemporary experimental hybrid performance space that serves as a laboratory for creating and showing new work. As a lab environment, Inkub8 provides a physical and intellectual workspace where artists can show work in stages as it evolves, define and develop new performance language, train and hone skills and explore performance as a social medium. Why incubate? Inkub8 believes that an artist’s work is not developed in a vacuum, and that open exploration and peer exchange are essential components to the creative process. By maintaining a work space, involving audiences in different stages of the creative cycle and inviting dialogue from many disciplines within and outside the arts. Inkub8 strives to inject and fortify contemporary performance in Miami and beyond, and define a role for live performance with in the Miami Arts corridor of Wynwood and Downtown.

Flying Into Gravity Skills by Cruz Isael Mata \ Workshop \ Venezuela \ Belgium

“Flying Into Gravity Skills” focuses on developing and maintaining the body’s fluent and weightless movement patterns. Different exercises are exploring the relationship with the floor as well as towards other people, space, gravity, and towards one’s own mindset while experiencing oneself in the present moment. The body is being given the opportunity to activate the relationship between the center and the periphery with the aim of moving more efficient and using the ground as well as the gravity as support. Cruz explores the principals of recreating movements of daily life and exploring the influences of voice onto the body ́s movement. Figuring out what the body has to say in the moments when it doesn’t move and doesn’t produce sound is one of the main approaches, which is being achieved through dynamic dance sequences, partnering work and diverse techniques including Flying Low and Release Technique.
