This Saturday November 15th join me for the 2nd annual dahlia tuber swap, held at the Middleburgh Community Center :139 Cotton Hill Road Middleburgh NY 12122.

Shout out to the amazing Middleburgh board members who approved my "last minute " request to use the community center.

When I decided to host a swap last year I never imagined it would gain as much traction as it has! With all the interest I am afraid that we won't fit comfortably in my studio. Thankfully the town of Middleburgh has an incredible space for the community right down the road!

I can't wait to see you all there!

It's dahlia digging season! And here are some reminders for all the dahlia lovers out there.

1) You don't need to divide tubers right now, you can wait until spring.

2) Don't over think it! There is so much information out there that it makes it seem scary or intimidating to grow and store tubers.

3) Everyone stores tubers differently, just find what works best for your situation and do that. Who cares what anyone else does.

Lately I have been seeing a lot of pricing transparency posts....and yes, I've done a few myself. But, I have some thoughts on this topic. So, if you are planning a wedding or an event take a moment to read.

Pricing varies depending on the location you are in.

Contrary to seemingly popular belief flowers from a local flower farmer (not hobby grower; a true business) are not going to be less expensive.

Pricing includes covering the business owners costs and making a living. Not just the flowers themselves. So each person prices a bit different based on their own needs.

Yes, there is a standard pricing formula but again, every business owner bases their pricing on their own needs.

So in summary, pricing transparency posts are great but they are not the industry norm and should not be treated as such.

Oh and faux flowers and real flowers are not priced the same. Faux rentals are possible and great if that's the route you'd like for your wedding. In my option fresh is always better 😉.
