Open 11-6. This is Foodeez unique zesty Italian sandwich shown in its four natural states of sandwich matter - wrapped, tossed, sandwiched, and chopped. Supposedly, a Portland Maine baker named Giovanni Amato invented the Italian in 1899. However, Italian sandwich purists call that the Maine Italian and claim the more traditional Italian "submarine" sandwich was invented around 1910 by an Italian grocer in Paterson New Jersey who named it with the additional term submarine after seeing an underwater submarine in a local museum. The history is just as varied as the sandwich toppings themselves, which is why I order it whenever I see it on a menu because I love to taste everyone's interpretation of what the Italian sandwich should be.

We would absolutely love to have everyone visit Foodeez cafe (1024 Central Ave, Mon-Sat 11-6) at least once in 2025 and try our food and drinks or follow us on social media if you can't make it yet to see what we're all about. We serve American and Caribbean meals, sandwiches, sides, soups, salads, sweets, and drinks. We have fun kids meals, party trays, bagged lunches, and can cater a custom meal for large and special events. We're family and friend owned, we're from here, we live here, and now we serve here. We've been in downtown Middletown for just over one year and would like to be on your mind next time you're trying to decide where you'd like to eat.

Come have a free drink of jingle juice with us. The snowberries taste like snowberries, the hollybubbles taste like hollybubbles, and the wintercheer tastes like wintercheer.

Have fun with your drink today (Open 11-6). Try an Earl Grey hot cocoa, a sunset splash, a mango pina colada, a cotton candy smoothie, a highlander grogg oatmeal. Get creative and make your own.
