Now, on a completely unrelated note, we are gearing up for another special concert night in Downtown Midland on Saturday, August 17 from 6-9pm: Flip Flops on the Blacktop! 🏝
Come experience a tropical escape without the obscene travel costs in Downtown Midland! I am the mom who knows which photo was the last. The mom who wishes there could be even just one more. I am thankful for my photographer friend who took those pictures when my body wasn’t ready. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have that photo of my little girl. The last one. This is a thought that crosses my mind every time I click the shutter for a client. What if it is the last one for them? It needs to be a good one. It needs to be one to cherish every time. We are not promised tomorrow. My promise to you is that with every click I care just like it was my last click.
Her name is Audrey Ann and her 11th birthday would have been tomorrow. Celebrate your loved ones every day.

Twins have a special place in my heart. They share an inexplicable bond that starts in the womb and lasts a lifetime. It was a blast watching Katie and Alex interact while capturing their senior stories. So it is only fitting they receive a twin sneak peek and their own special perks as well!

In case you were not able to see the Aurora Borealis this weekend, here is a video I captured in my phone (not high quality) while I was capturing images with my camera. Being able to capture the aurora dance over our city’s Tridge was a pipe dream bucket list item that I never thought would actually happen. Light pollution in Midland is strong, especially downtown near Dow’s plant. However, being in solar max year has brought about some opportunities outside of the norm.

The aurora borealis is set for another display tonight if conditions remain favorable. Charge your batteries, get your coats ready… it could be another nice one… though not as big as Friday night!
Capturing this image has been a pipe dream bucket list item that I never thought would actually happen. Statistically speaking the downtown area has too much light pollution to capture the aurora borealis. However, we’re in solar max, and that means anything is possible!!
Friends, the aurora borealis will be dancing across the entire state of Michigan tonight. It’s your chance to turn off the lights, step outside and look to the sky. You may be able to see it without the aid of devices, but if not raise a camera (phone or otherwise) to the sky. It is truly an amazing sight to be seen. You typically want to look towards the north, but tonight you may be able to just look up. Good luck to those who are hoping to catch the lights!
