If you need a little vibrant slightly tropical vibe to brighten up your weekend, stop by the shop today inside Hill's Compounding Pharmacy for some freshly harvested strawflower & stock. These two smell great and strawflower can be dried or pop off their blooms for lots of different uses. We love gluing them in tiny wreaths, putting them in glass ornaments, or making gift tags with them this time of year.

We’ve hit the time of year now where we are focusing in on planting spring flowers, while preparing for some fun holiday festivities. This Saturday you can find us at The OFF Market at Summit Park for their Holiday Market! We will have lots of holiday bulbs for winter forcing (Paperwhites & amaryllis) along with our personal favorites for spring planting (ranuncs, tulips, & anemones) We will also have a wide selection of dried flowers, house plants, and other fun botanical gifts!

Even though the frost took away our field flowers we still have greenhouse blooms coming out of the tunnels for another week or so! We grow some really cool heirloom mums that have an outstanding vase life. We also cut the last of greenhouse dahlias on Monday.

Fresh bouquets were just delivered to the shop so by sure to get them while you still can at Hill's Compounding Pharmacy

We are stocked up with bouquets this morning at the shop! It looks like we might get a killing frost Sunday night but who knows! 🤷🏼‍♀️ Either way though next week begins field cleanup which means dahlia digging and mowing summer annuals down to make way for spring! Although we are saying good bye to many of our warm season favorites, we will still be sending a more select number of bouquets to the shop. This season we are also doing some experimenting with early anemones, stock, & ranunculus so we are hopeful we can bring you some flowers through the holidays and over the winter months.

Also, last call for summer punch cards!! Get all your bouquets redeemed before the flowers are gone!

This week has been busy busy with wedding work and fretting over whether or not frost was coming and trying to prepare for it! Luckily, no damage just yet! Yesterday afternoon we did some picking and sent what’s sure to be some of the last dahlias to the shop! Swing on by this morning (9-1) and grab one at our flower shop inside Hill's Compounding Pharmacy.

This morning we definitely woke up to a fall chill in the air! It’s looking like we should be able to make it through though with another week of field flowers, but these days certainly are numbered. I’ve really been enjoying our last planting of cosmos. Since these guys are all outside, we will soak them in as long as we can! This season wasn’t great for cosmos for us but this last planting has been great! This week we tucked them into all our mixed bouquets and we were able to put together straight bunches too.

Today the pharmacy/flower shop Hill's Compounding Pharmacy is open until 1:00 so stop by and grab some before they leave us for the season.

Pumpkin restock at the flower shop in Hill's Compounding Pharmacy!! These guys are great for a little festivity from now through Thanksgiving. Dried flowers are best kept indoors and stay the most vibrant out of direct sunlight. We will also be bringing them to this week 🎃

We had the best time this past Friday evening at the Break the Love event creating this deliciously beautiful grazing table with Boards & Beez. You definitely can’t go wrong when paring these two together 💕🌸🍇🧀

Snow flakes were falling this morning as I loaded up the van for @dorothylanemarket I certainly didn’t expect to wake up to snow on the ground the last two nights. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻that was the last. I will say though it made for a fun moment to catch on video 💐🌨It’s also cute that you can hear little birdies chirping away in the background.

Over the weekend I gave a glimpse in my stories on a special project we have been working on. Matt took over ownership of Hill’s Compounding Pharmacy/Milford Pharmacy and Wellness Center back in September. Since this transition, we knew we wanted to incorporate our flowers into this space. Many of you have picked up your CSA share or ordered flowers and picked them up through the pharmacy. We are happy to announce that we will be incorporating a Flower Shop into this space! Now you will be able to shop our flowers all season long and place pre-orders for everyday & special occasion arrangements through the Tracey Rae website and pick them up at our store front in Milford. More details to come on other specialty items we will be carrying and our official shop opening date! In the meantime, please stop in and see the progress and pickup a bouquet of flowers. We will be bringing in fresh flowers everyday from now on! 💐

We’ve been a little quiet on here lately but the flower growing hasn’t stopped! This morning we planted the last of our tulips for spring. 🌷🌷🌷 We love planting them in raised beds. It’s easy planting, digging (we dig the bulbs come spring for the longest stem length), and the raised beds provides great drainage (our first year of tulip planting we lost 1,500 bulbs due to rot). Can’t wait to see all of these blooming come April.

How Our Flower Farm Started

Our passion for flowers began to bloom back in 2011. We planted as many flowers as we possibly could for our July wedding, and were fairly successful at it! By the time of our wedding, we realized just how much we enjoyed the challenge and fun of growing our own flowers. Since then, we have continued to expand our floral offerings by growing new varieties each year.

In late 2015, we decided to take the plunge and purchased a small farm nestled on 2 acres in Midland, Ohio. Tracey quickly began pursuing her dream of flower farming full-time.

In addition to growing our own flowers, we also do our own arranging, making us farmer-florists! Having the flowers next to our workshop means we have access to them at their peak of beauty, also allowing a longer vase life, and the satisfaction that can only be found from using a local product.
