Just to clarify. When you enter a BBQ restaurant and see brisket prices at over $20.00 a pound. It's not the restaurant trying to get rich, nor is it the rancher trying to get rich. Current cattle sale prices have remained the same as seen in this sales report from Corsicana, TX. Still wondering who's getting rich? The packers that's who. Several have asked what can be done to combat this, and to be honest I don't have an answer other than shop local. Support those that aren't getting rich, and buy from a local rancher.
