1. You don’t know until you try.
I had thought about taking the plunge for YEARS and I kept feeling like it wasn’t the right time or that it wouldn’t work out. Those were just stories I told myself and they were always rooted in avoiding failing or not enjoying it. Turns out they were both false realities.
2. Lean on others for mentorship and support.
I was amazed at how the DJ community was willing to help me learn, give me tips, and push referrals my way. Blessed to know these individuals.

3. Everything you do as a DJ is an interview for future work.
Every gig I had, every event I went to, and every call I took was a chance for me to show others that I am someone they could hire. I have a deep passion for music and I have a rooted investment for whoever hires me. I take what I do very seriously and I have a hell of a time doing it.
Spending the next month in the lab so I can continue to be the best me and I am looking forward to 2025 🥂

Music has been my life, my whole life. It is where I got identity when I was growing up. It is how I made the best friends. It’s how I dealt with hard times. It’s how I celebrated good times.
I’ve now allowed myself to take the time to make a business out of it and pursue it as a side job for now. I am so blessed to have a supportive wife that has been with me every step of the way.
If there is something you want to do with your life, but feel like it’s too late. It’s not. Go for it! I’m so glad I did.

As a new DJ, I was so stoked to be able to network with other local DJ’s, pick their brains, and become a student of the craft. I love this environment so much and talking to a ton of likeminded people tonight was one of my favorite things.
