Looking for as many volunteers as possible to help us at Pike County - Light Up the Spectrum Inclusion Center LLC relocate from our current location to our New Home in Port Jervis NY…

Thankfully the Landlord was gracious enough to date to vacate the premises from August 26th until the end of the month on August 31st due to my recent hospitalization this past Sunday.

The moving truck will be here Saturday evening! We will be loading the entire contents of our Inclusion Center and Play Space into the truck to bring to our New Home! Once the truck is packed to full capacity, we will need some help unloading in our new location…

We will also need some helping hands anywhere from Sunday afternoon, August 31st throughout the week until Wednesday evening would wholeheartedly be appreciated!

Cooking is an interesting and multi-sensory activity. It helps individuals of all ages develop cognitive skills and abilities.

Through cooking, we can learn to follow instructions, solve problems and make predictions and observations.

Social benefit of cooking…

Cooking has been shown to support bonding and social skills development by promoting a “sense of belonging, a sharing of common interests, and an opportunity to enjoy the company of others”

Additionally, cooking gives individuals an opportunity to practice important social skills they need to make and keep friendships. For example, when we invite our kids to help us pick out a recipe, they are practicing listening, communicating, and reasoning–all of which are skills we need to play and work well with others!

Join us on Saturday, June 17th from 5pm until 7pm to help celebrate World Juggling Day Light Up the Spectrum style!

ALL ages and abilities are welcome!

Each participant will have the chance to make their very own set of “GLOW” juggling balls and learn the technique of juggling. Learning to juggle has many great benefits.

Benefits of juggling include…

🤹‍♀️ Bi-manual dexterity

🤹‍♂️ Focused concentration

🤹‍♀️ Goal-setting skills

🤹‍♀️ Problem solving skills

Juggling has also been an effective therapeutic tool to help learning and behavioral disabilities, including dyslexia, vision issues, ADD, and ADHD.

Juggling is also a great study break tool and stress reliever!
