Let’s talk vintage postage! What is my process for picking the perfect vinatage stamps for your wedding invitations?​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​1️⃣ Color! The first thing I consider is your color palette. It’s the most important aspect when looking at your stamps.
2️⃣ Meaning. The next part is choosing stamps that are meaningful. Whether it’s hobbies you’re both into or your wedding venue, we always want to have meaning behind our design choices.
3️⃣ Math. I know. Boring, right? But without including the correct number of stamps, it doesn’t matter how beautiful or meaning they are, that letter’s going nowhere. We sometimes also include current forever stamps if we need to get to a really high postage count. It also depends a lot on your budget!

Our bride, Jen, really wanted a watercolor map of Newport with paintings of where their different wedding events were taking place but also, since Newport is so meaningful to them, she wanted some icons representing special moments in their relationship!​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​We included , ,Cliff Walk, , some cute little oyster shells and sailboats, the Goat Island lighthouse, the Newport bridge, and of course their venue

THIS is what brings me so much joy and fuels me. Creating one-of-a-kind pieces that are special and meaningful to the couple that they’ll cherish forever 💕

Continuing with our series on different printing methods, today we’re talking about letterpress!​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Possibly my favorite printing method, letterpress is a classic and impactful printing method. It creates an indentation into the paper by pressing a metal plate with ink into it.

My actual favorite is combining letterpress WITH flat printing!

Reminiscing about L+W’s summer wedding invitations 💙 We used a soft but cheerful color palette to reflect their wedding ceremony at and fully custom artwork.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​From hand-done calligraphy to a venue painting to a wedding crest with hand-painted monogram, their entire suite was fully customized to reflect their love.
