RIP.
What a great career!
I enjoyed her in the Harry Potter movies.

Maggie Smith, who won an Oscar for 1969 film “The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie” and won new fans in the 21st century as the dowager Countess of Grantham in “Downton Abbey” and Professor Minerva McGonagall in the Harry Potter films, has died at 89.

Thanks greatly to those who have contributed to my go fund me in the last few weeks. If you go to the page and you see the number of what’s been donated, that’s actually the accumulation of the first go round from two years ago mixed with current contributions. I’m still a long way away from not being stressed out over bills. I’m still hanging on, and every day is me calling DSS and SSI trying to get assistance that will help me and my future.

Every day, I fight the good fight. Thanks for all your help, I plan on returning the favor when I can.

UPDATED - JANUARY 15, 2022…From Karma Conventions CT:

Bigger And Better.

When we announced Brass City Comic Con X, originally scheduled for April, 2020, I wanted it to be our biggest show to date. That meant doing a lot of hustling to pull it off.

We would’ve gotten away with it, too…if it weren’t for that meddling COVID-19.

Ah, well. So the intent was to push the show until later in the year (we did do an online show, and others followed suit). Still, COVID-19 persisted. The state shutdown of venues didn’t help. Travel impeded potential guests from committing.
Other shows were changing their dates, and snapping up guests as well.

When we got to 2021, we saw that we would have to plan a Fall show. Guests were still an issue, and our venue seemed more dicey than usual. We could not settle on a firm show date. As a result, we have ended our relationship with NVCC, and will be moving the show to another location within the Waterbury area. This does not leave us time to properly prepare a great event. So, we are now planning a show for 2022 in late Summer/early Fall. This is subject to change once more, pending requirements of our new venue, but we are hoping we don’t have to do that. We do have a new venue in mind.

Needless to say, we are still working to make BCCCX our biggest and best show to date. Thanks for staying on the trolley… we hope you feel the final results will be worth the ride.
