📚 Author Spotlight: Michael J. Stiehl 🖋️

We’re excited to announce that Michael J. Stiehl, a versatile author in speculative fiction, will be joining us at the Spooky Frog Horrifying Book Fair!

About the Author:
Michael J. Stiehl writes across various genres, including fantasy, horror, and weird westerns. He is a full-time staff member and adjunct faculty at the University of Chicago.
With a lifelong passion for fiction—particularly horror, comics, adventure, and science fiction—he has transitioned from academic publications to the imaginative stories that have always inspired him.
Michael resides in the Chicago suburbs with his wife, two children, and their poodle, Jack. When not writing, he enjoys biking, camping, reading, listening to music, and playing Dungeons & Dragons with friends.

Notable Works:

The Maiden’s Sleep: A dark fantasy novel where the protagonist, Bow, confronts a mysterious plague and uncovers a secret sect of alchemy in the town of Dunwynn.
The Bauer Ranch: A Western horror novella that takes readers on a thrilling journey through a cursed ranch in Colorado.

What an amazing New Year’s party hosted by Goth Barge and Subspace at X Ray Arcade!

This year has been a lot of work throwing amazing dance parties all over the Midwest and I’m so honored to have been able to be a part of it (mostly by taping things to walls). Being able to see my brother and my friends be so successful has been one of my favorite parts of 2024.

Now on to 2025 with new adventures and a bigger than ever Spooky Frog event in February!

Do you love all things spooky, literary, and community-driven? Join the Spooky Frog Book Fair team and help make this incredible event a success! We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to assist in two key ways:

1️⃣ Street Team (January–Early February)

Help spread the word by distributing fliers in specific areas of:

Greater Milwaukee
Madison
Greater Chicago
Your efforts will ensure horror fans and book lovers don’t miss out on this amazing fair happening on February 22nd, 2025!

2️⃣ Event Day Assistance (February 22, 2025)

The largest need for volunteers will be helping authors and vendors with:

Load-In (Morning): Assist with unloading and setting up their tables.
Load-Out (Evening): Help pack up at the end of the event.
