Online registration for the 2024-2025 Sumadija season is now open!! We are very excited to announce that NEW this year, we are introducing Školica Folklora Ensemble for children ages 4-5!

In order to register with Sumadija, your church membership at St. Sava, or a local Serbian Orthodox Church, must be current through 2023.

Please fill out all of the information required in the application. Information for at least one parent is required, regardless of dancer’s age and it cannot be same as dancer’s info.

Shirts are mandatory this year and can be used for practices, travel and specific performances. Additional shirts can be ordered as part of registration for anyone else interested. Distribution information will be provided once available. Cost - $10 each.

Registration Fee is $150 for the first dancer, and $100 for each additional dancer in one family. Cost for dancers in Školica Folklora Ensemble is $100 each dancer regardless if you are registering other dancers or not.

Commitment Fee is $300 per family, guaranteeing you will volunteer for at least 3 Sumadija events. The fee is returned at the end of the season upon completion of commitment. If last year’s fee was rolled over, you owe $0. Commitment fee is not collected if the family only has dancers in Školica Folklora Ensemble but two volunteering shifts are required.
Payments are due by first practice in the form of cash or check, including commitment fee if applicable for your family.

Payment plan is available upon request and approval from the Sumadija Board. Payment plans have to be completed by December 31, 2024.

Last day to sign up is September 30, 2024. Board approval is required for registration after the due date. For Školica Folklora Ensemble, September 30, 2024 is also the last day to sign out and receive a refund.

For all other ensembles, the last day to sign out and receive money back is October 31, 2024. If a dancer participated in out of state travel via bus, no refund will be issued regardless of sign out date.

We are saddened to learn of the passing of our dear former St. Sava Junior Dancer Director, Darlene “Dodie” Lalich. Dodie touched the lives of many St. Sava youth in the 70’s & 80’s with so many memorable achievements including performances in Washington DC, for Ronald & Nancy Reagan at our very own St. Sava Cultural Center, and countless local events including Holiday Folk Fairs, Savindan celebrations, St. Sava Serbian Days, and our infamous “Baba Zabava”. Dodie truly cared about the youth and we thank her for her tireless devotion and giving back to the St. Sava community. Our heartfelt condolences go out to Andja, Mihailo, and the entire Dobrac family.
