Everyday I come into my workspace and I try to get SOMETHING, anything done that will help propell my business in a forward direction. Everyday things like this happen. I have one or more kids walking into my space, sometimes right onto things I'm working on to become center of space and attention so they can show me how they dance like Groot, or to break up some argument or to open what feels like their 700th pack of fruit snacks.
They only get 2 hours of school a day 2 days a week right now, so the time I would normally have to work while they are in school was ripped away and we haven't figured out a new normal cuz the longer we continue to not go to school and not be able to work, the harder things get. The behaviors get worse, the ability to interact appropriately is non-existing, and it becomes increasingly harder and harder to re-enter event spaces when there's none happening or the funds to apply for them when you're not bringing any income in.
All this to say, I'm trying really hard to bootstrap my business into the financial black right now and it's slow going. I'm really feeling the affect to my business- for sure, but also my self esteem as my once thriving business is hiding in the shadows and nothing sells, commissions are few and far between, and I don't have time to work like I used to when my children require me to help do their schooling daily and rarely leave my presence.
