If your summer wedding is forecasted to be just a bit too hot to be comfortable, consider providing your guests with sun umbrellas or hand fans. A great two-for-one are wedding program fans. These can serve as a welcome sign, wedding timeline, or fun details about your wedding party or you as a couple. Extra water and sunscreen might also be thoughtful additions. Bridesmaids and groomsmen- it’s up to you to keep the couple watered and cool!

What kinds of shoes should you and your guests wear to a barn wedding? While our barn is surrounded by grass, a beautiful back patio, and paved paths on either side, the front area is landscaped with woodchips. The walk from the car to the barn may also be a little dusty. With this in mind, plan your footwear accordingly!

Think about open toed vs closed toed heels or sandals, if you prefer a block heel over a stiletto heel, and how much running around in the fields you’ll be doing to get those stunning wedding portraits! When in doubt- cowboy boots are always an option!

One thing that always comes with the beauty of mother nature is the bugs! We are known to have mosquitos in Northern Nevada, and our grassy fields don’t help our case.

If you’re worried about bug bites for you and your guests, we recommend providing bug spray for your guests, placing coffee grounds around your venue space, and on chillier nights letting your guests know to bring a shawl or jacket. Be smitten, not bitten!

Our barn is located at 1452 Hwy 88 Minden, right next to the Dangberg Ranch Historic Park. Look for our turn off HWY 88 where the Historic Dangberg Ranch turn off is in the direction of the stunning Sierra Nevada mountains and follow our dirt road until you turn right over the bridge and see the barn!

We were honored to be the chosen venue for Cornerstone Community Church and Hilltop Community Church for the production of their collaborative Christmas Day Service. It was a jam-packed couple of days getting set up, a full day of shooting with Ben Sanchez from Visionary Films from Reno, and the great worship teams from Cornerstone and Hilltop.
