I said I wasn’t going to do it…but Thursday night I just jumped in.
I’ve been wanting this door to the groom’s room to swing the other way to be more convenient but I haven’t had the best luck in the past with 90+ year old doors. I thought about hiring it out, then I realized all the other things I’ve done, so I figured I’d be able to do it just fine.
Door is warped, the hinge side of the door is a half inch taller than the doorknob side, the door frame isn’t plum…not a recipe for success but guess what? Boom. Success. A little stain and varnish (my nemesis) on the sanded and chiseled parts and we’ll call it final!
