Brought to you by - Unified Magick Arts & Entertainment, a well established events production company collectively composed of innovative, powerful, and compassionate artists. We are nurturing an undivided ripple effect of positive shifts in our world's evolution. A current production of ours is a series of renewal projects called Fionix Rising. Our mission is to sustain a movement that will keep

people connecting and feeling supported through this pandemic and after. Despite the challenges and restrictions imposed upon public events, we will create fuel to transcend. We provide an unbiased platform for organizations to spread awareness and education regarding needs for our communities that have been affected by COVID19 and its economic impact. This alongside other important social and environmental issues such as human rights, global warming, health care, and education. Fionix Rising is a catalyst for change by organizing resources and delivering relief to these causes through the facilitation of volunteers, donation drives, and creative fundraising. This will simultaneously generate opportunities for entertainment, arts, and service industry workers, whose greatest passion is their craft. Our project will begin with a podcast featuring live-streamed entertainment. This will serve as a vehicle for building our brand and raising necessary funding in preparation for safely produced live music and arts events. We are confident that with our passion and mission to serve, our movement will grow, and with your help we can better redefine our sense of normality and rise above the ashes in unity.

It's Super Bowl Sunday and many of us will be eating CHIPS! Every time a person crunches into a potato chip, he or she is enjoying the delicious taste of one of the world's most famous snacks a treat that might not exist without the contribution of black inventor George Crum. 🥔

ABOUT:
The son of an African American father and a Native American mother, Crum was working as the chef in the summer of 1853 when he incidentally invented the chip. It all began when a patron who ordered a plate of French fried potatoes sent them back to Crum's kitchen because he felt they were too thick and soft.

To teach the picky patron a lesson, Crum sliced a new batch of potatoes as thin as he possibly could, and
then fried them until they were hard and crunchy. Finally, to top them off, he added a generous heaping of salt. To Crum's surprise, the dish ended up being a hit with the patron and a new snack was born!

Years later, Crum opened his own restaurant that had a basket of potato chips on every table. Though Crum never attempted to patent his invention, the snack was eventually mass produced and sold in bags providing thousands of jobs nationwide.

Cheers to Kamala D Harris for becoming the first woman, the first African American woman, the first Indian-American, and the first person of Asian-American descent to be sworn in as the Vice President of the United States of America. 🥂
As she said in her election acceptance speech,
“I may be the first, but I will not be the last.”

“She was powerful not because she wasn’t scared but because she went on so strongly, despite the fear.”
Atticus Poetry

Sage Scabrini
Vendor Coordinator at Fionix Rising

Sage Scabrini has been working as a vendor for over ten years. She started out on the Grateful Dead tour scene with her mother, selling everything from crystals and hippie gear to food. Her mother has always been a big inspiration to her throughout traveling and work. They would travel the country in the summers, working everything from Renaissance festivals to music events and stopping at Rainbow gatherings in between. Since starting her own thing at 16 doing tie dye she has worked to collaborate with artists to create her shop Rainbow Spectrums, which she presently owns. In 2011 she got her massage licenses in Colorado and Texas so she could create a side career in healing arts. She has been her festival community healer as well as a craft vendor. Since then she has worked management positions under vendors, coordinators, and production companies throughout her career. She is a compassionate communicator and works as hard as she can to make vending as safe and as fun as possible.

Ellie Tomasso
Venue & Talent Coordinator at Fionix Rising

A true native, Ellie grew up in Glenwood Springs where she spent her childhood dancing, acting, singing, and playing instruments through high school. When she graduated, she realized how many artists get hurt by the industry by simply not understanding the business side of it. This prompted her to get her degree in Music Business at University of Colorado Denver where she started becoming an Artist Manager. She currently manages Denver Americana Rock artist Andy Sydow and rock act Ardelle's Little Secret. Recently, she started her own management company L.E Entertainment, Ltd. When she's not managing, she enjoys singing and spending time with the people she cares about. Since she graduated in May, her other job as a wedding DJ is almost non-existent now. She was able to find a job as an Office Manager at Modern Music Studio. Without live shows, she’s been having to find other ways to keep herself working and keeping the hope for her artists that the music industry will bounce back once this pandemic is over.

Calling all poets!! ✍️ ❗️❗️

“Write a poem that, like Hughes did, begins with the line: "I dream a world" and describe the change you hope for.

Your poem can rhyme like Hughes' poem, but it doesn't have to. It just has to dream us out of tribulation.”

As we celebrate the birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr. on Monday, Morning Edition asks for you to write a poem that starts with the words "I dream a world."

🌠 Fionix Rising Staff Introductions 🌠

Fay Wegener
Founder of Unified Magick Arts & Entertainment
Creative Event Planner/Agent/Promoter
Chief of Operation at Fionix Rising

Fay was born in the suburbs of Minneapolis, Minnesota, an Aries, adventurist, opportunist, and an endless lover. She has always had a devotion towards music, the arts, and community. Starting dance and gymnastics at 4 years of age birthed an early passion in performance arts and then endured an injury at 13 that forced her to step back. Little did she know, this may have been the best thing to happen in her life. In her early teenage years her family moved to Mankato, MN. With relentless desire to continue moving her feet, she was later enthralled by an unusual society and fell in love. While regaining her strength and confidence, she feasted in new mediums like theatre, yoga, and circus arts. Working herself right back on stage after being told she would never perform again. Through these networks, Fay found another direction of passion that seeded the foundation to where we are now. Even through her adolescence, she has cherished traveling and bringing people together through unique functions. “After all, our memories are the only thing we get to take with us when we leave this life.” At only 15 years of age, Fay was hired by Chris Vdakes to personally assist him and his company Guerilla Productions. She assisted in the development of their first Bella Familia Festival at Harmony Park, in Geneva, MN. which proceeded for 7 years. During this time, Fay was also producing events with other promoters. A momentous job was with Matt Mueller as he took ownership of Pachyderm Studios in Cannon Falls, MN. and the creation of Full Moon Productions. Continuing to be offered opportunities across the country, assisting productions and acts with booking, performing, staging, and management, she learned this may be the career path her life is destined to take. Fay decided it was time to embark on her own passage and the spark was lit for Unified Magick Arts & Entertainment. She took a leap of faith with her best friend at 23 and re-rooted in Denver, Colorado. This opened doors to new relationships with other promoters, agencies, venues, and artists of all trades. Some of her other notable managerial roles took place at Bonnaroo, ARISE, Wakarusa, WE Fest, Rothbury, Country Fest, All Good, and Sonic Bloom. She loves the entertainment industry and her involvement. When not working or attending other events, she enjoys hiking, running, doing anything outdoors, practical magick, herbalism, cooking, crafting, and spending time with friends and family. Fay says “What a blessed journey and gift my life has been. I give the deepest thanks to my hardships as they are our best teachers in life. I am showered in gratitude to be a part of such a magnificent team of like-minded individuals, who have collectively curated a project that will help with so much healing. Unified Magick has and continues to stand by the same vision, urging our communities to work together and reach new heights. Pushing for unimaginable collaborations and accommodating the best interest of everyone involved. Focusing on not only what the fans want to see and remember but what the artists need and want as well. Continuing to travel where the heart and sounds take us, creating new friends and networks along the way, we grow individually... and together, creating Unified Magick.”

Delia Ottomanelli
Fionix Rising Founder, Chief of Administration, and Sponsorship Coordinator

ABOUT:
Delia Ottomanelli is a singer/songwriter, music teacher, and entrepreneur. She founded Fionix Rising in May 2020 with the primary goal of renewing and reviving the live music industry. The music and arts event series generates jobs for musicians and industry workers and creates a platform for music lovers, small businesses, and community organizations to connect and facilitate positive change.
Delia was born and raised in New Jersey. She currently lives in Denver, Colorado with her cat Navi. She loves to cook for her friends and family, attend local art and music events, and constantly tell people about the beach and Taylor Ham.
“We all felt really lost and uncertain about our futures when covid hit. Without an outlet to do our jobs and pursue our passions, a lot of us only had two options: do nothing, or do everything you can. Denver has a really supportive music and arts community. We know how impactful and significant music and art is, and this is our way of giving back- the best way we know how".

✨Fionix Friday✨

Have you heard the story of the Chinese Bamboo? Like any plant, growth of the Chinese Bamboo Tree requires nurturing – water, fertile soil, sunshine. In its first year, we see no visible signs of activity. In the second year, again, no growth above the soil. The third, the fourth, still nothing. Our patience is tested and we begin to wonder if our efforts (caring, water, etc.) will ever be rewarded.

And finally in the fifth year – behold, a miracle! We experience growth. And what growth it is! The Chinese Bamboo Tree grows 80 feet in just six weeks!
