Hello all,

After my break this past winter, I decided to reopen my orders in April. I sat here looking over my availability for July orders, and that's when I decided with a heavy heart, that I am temporarily closing this chapter of my life. This journey began as a hobby I've always had for baking and making sweet treats. At the time I started offering custom cakes, it was a side hustle I didn't expect to grow at the rate it has.

I have shared this before when I competed in the Greatest Baker Competition last fall, but I know there are many of you who are new here who may not know much about me. I have been battling chronic kidney disease for the last 7 years. When I reopened my orders in April, I also started a new treatment for my condition. The side effects of this treatment can be pretty intense for me causing severe fatigue and muscle aches in my legs, back, and hands; making the tasks I need to accomplish much more difficult.

That being said, I have made this difficult decision to better focus on my health, my wellbeing, and my family. In the past 2 years, I have made over 100 custom cakes all independently and I couldn't thank you all enough for the amount of love and support I received during this time! I want to thank my amazing husband for being my backbone throughout this entire process. He has been my dishwasher, errand runner, and emotional support through every single order. I want to thank my family for their support and belief in me to achieve all that I have been able to.

The warm weather caused the buttercream to crack 😭 but here's a simple 2-tier cake I did for a 50th birthday this weekend! Top tier was a taro cake with coconut custard and bottom tier was vanilla cake with strawberry purée. This was a very last minute event that I ended up pulling together with some simple decor as well!

Initially wanted to offer these bouquet cakes this weekend for Mother's Day but decided that I, a busy momma myself, needed a break and dedicated this one cake itself to my mom for Mother's Day! I'm still really new to piping flowers but each flower was hand piped with buttercream! Happy Mother's Day weekend!
