There is nothing better than a Minnesota summer...but when you mix the summer heat with increased activity and the M-word, you’ll likely be singing "HOT HOT HOT" day and night.

I try to get outside as much as possible during the summer months and choose outdoor activities to keep my perimenopausal weight off. Whether biking, playing pickleball, paddleboarding or going for a walk, the night sweats, headaches, sleeplessness and, as my husband likes to remind me, MOOD SWINGS, are now a daily occurrence.

Luckily, makes it easy to discuss these changes with someone who understands what I am experiencing all while offering me the tools and tips to celebrate this stage of life.

Today was one of those days I was reminded why being a woman in a creative business matters.

I had the honor of moderating a panel of three of the most inspiring and authentic interior and furniture designers in the Twin Cities and left feeling inspired and excited about the future of design and women owned businesses in our community.

Thanks to the visionary thinking of and , the Talks bring together the most thoughtful and engaging design thinkers in an accessible and personal atmosphere. If you haven’t had the chance to attend one, I highly recommend you do in the future.

Coming in to 2023, I wasn’t quite sure of my why. After this morning, I am reinvigorated and know that my why is because I am in the business of creating life’s most memorable experiences and designing for connection does just that.
