Greetings Family💛

It has been several months since the pipe froze and burst at the Historic Bell Lofts–displacing the 21 families who called it home–and we want to provide everyone with a brief update. As you may recall, on the day of the event, we launched a GoFundMe & Owner lead fundraiser campaign to raise relief funds for the families impacted. Together, we raised a total of $111,910.88, directly benefiting the 21 displaced families. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who generously provided and continue to offer resources to support the families impacted by this event. We are pleased to share that with the assistance of It Takes A Village MN, 90% of the tenants have secured permanent housing.

Over the past few months, we have been working with our insurance company to thoroughly assess the extent of damages and carry out the necessary repairs to reaffirm Bell Lofts as a secure and comfortable residence. With that, we will take this opportunity to make additional improvements beyond the scope of work covered by the insurance claim.

Through this experience, we have learned a great deal that has led us to refine our approach. We are working to streamline future management, day-to-day operations, and working deeper with Northside artists, entrepreneurs and families to ensure the Historic Bell Lofts has thoughtful design elements and programming in the new breath of life. We know there is a much larger ecosystem outside of our own resources needed to provide housing on the Northside, and we’re committed to doing our part.

The last 48 hours have been tough. We regret to inform you that our apartment complex Bell Lofts just had a pipe burst and the entire building was flooded. Our team is investigating what conspired to lead to such unfortunate events. Since receiving this news, thanks to our gracious team and partners, we have been able to get the tenants housed. In the meantime, we still have families who need immediate support.

HERE IS WHAT OUR FAMILIES NEED:

Room – we are looking for resources to help tenants with relocation short and potentially long-term housing.

Board – immediate financial support to families who lost all their food due to the flooding.

Clothing – We know that all 25 of the apartments had significant water damage to their clothing so we want to make sure they have clean clothes for the immediate and near future.

Outreach – Help to get the word out to those who are able to support financially & materially –– funds raised will go directly to the tenets // gofundme . The link is in my bio.

The flagship on Lowry Avenue opened in 2015 as a incubator hub for creatives, small businesses and entrepreneurs. Since then, NEW RULES has come up with new plans that integrate commercial properties with affordable housing, access to healthy food and healing spaces. One of those spaces opens .in.mn opens thus spring - here’s a hint - it will be cool!

I need all the soldiers to tap in at 6 pm for the PSA ! .mn is kicking off their fundraiser to raise $100k ! When we drop at 6pm CST today , we need all the soldiers go re-share and donate ! We want everyone to have the same experience these two little girls had every year and to do that it takes $$$ to pay the artist and cover operational cost . ITS TOPIA is happening August 27th and we need to raise $100k in order for that to happen ! Tell a friend to tell a friend - let’s run it up at 6pm today !!! Drop a 🤝 if you’re in !!!
