If someone tells you that you can save money by lying and saying it’s a party not a wedding… That’s bad advice!
One myth that floats around is the idea of a “wedding tax”—the assumption that vendors charge more just because you say the word wedding.
Here’s the truth: it’s not a tax, and we’re not out here to scam you. The cost difference comes from the unique level of work, expertise, and stress involved in weddings compared to other types of events.
When you hire someone for a wedding, you’re not just paying for the time spent the day-of. You’re paying for:
✔️ Months of preparation and communication. Weddings require a lot of pre-planning to get every detail just right.
✔️ Specialized experience. Wedding vendors know how to navigate the high stakes, emotions, and logistics that come with a once-in-a-lifetime event.
✔️ Backup plans and added responsibilities. A lot of vendors carry extra insurance, equipment, and staff to ensure your day runs smoothly, no matter what.
✔️ The pressure of perfection. A wedding isn’t “just another party.” It’s an emotional, meaningful day where there are no do-overs.
So please don’t come into wedding planning with the assumption that we are all out here to overcharge you and steal all your money, because we’re not. Also, lying is going to do nothing more than bring on a mountain of bad vibes haha! 💃🏻🕺🏻
I can’t stop with this sound… But also, let’s be transparent out here folks 😘🕺🏻💃🏻

Real talk, when should you order your wedding dress? We say 10-12 months out, this should give you plenty of time for your dress to come in (usually takes 6-9 months) and you will have plenty of time for alterations!
* Key to scheduling your alterations, make the appointments EARLY! Alteration appointments book up quickly, so if you have an estimated arrival date for your dress, you can get those on the books too!
** Don’t dress shop too early… Some people will get their dress like 18 months out (Hi it’s me🙋🏻♀️) and a newer style might come out that you like more… Again, that’s me! Don’t be a Christina… Haha jk I loved my dress… But a different style of my dress did come out that I was really obsessed with…
